Free view 28 east

I highly doubt this will happen anytime soon and not for many years.

Just to make it clear FREEVIEW is the name of the UK Digital Terrestial service ie receive via an aerial. FREE TO AIR(FTA)is the correct name for those channels on 28east and the SKY DIGITAL platfform that carries these channels has renewed the contract with SESuntil 2029 so 5 more years at least.

The UK is moving towards IPTV.

Last I read, the new service (cant remember the name) is going to be OTA supplemented by IPTV.

I think we still have a good few years before sat it tuned off though.

Just to add a bit to avoid confusion, the new service is called FREELY , do a google, and its built iin to new tv's more and more manufacturers are including it. Its an app that runs as iptv and looks awesome. The tv will have a DTT tuner as ell to get FREEVIEW. The rollout of ntioal FIBRE broadband is the key.
