Best Image for Sunray DM800HDse Clone SSl84D Sim2 (Single Tuner)?

You've probably reviewed all the information and screenshots in the discussion thread regarding the "Flash Backup" plugin.

Don't look for a plugin called "Password Reset". Look for a plugin called as "Flash Backup" or something similar.

Then go into the plugin (open the plugin). And then... use the YELLOW button on the RCU. That's it :-) .

Officiall no, that's the last official version 4.0 from OpenPLi Team.

Others newer are from Sim card Teams or passionates, as Japhar Team.

You will need to find one for your sim.

I downloaded,unzipped, copy the ipk file in a usb drive, it got installed, but i don't see any Plugins option in the Menu.

When you run the ipk it will just removed the password, and you can login with telnet with no password, you enter root as user, and then just return/enter for the password (empty password).

I don't believe there is anything there to view files / directories on disk.

In some Enigma2 it was possible to install IPK directly in the MENU of plugins. But each Enigma2 is a little different and the procedures are also different. For example, look here... read the posts: https://forums.openpli.org/topic/18618-manual-install-ipk/

The firmware / enigma2 will probably be damaged soon. You should probably do a complete flash. However, you have to choose the right image. These DM800SE devices existed, if I'm not mistaken, also as fake versions (so-called CLONE versions). And then you need firmware designed for the FAKE version and not for the original DM800SE. Or am I wrong and there are no FAKE versions of the DM800SE? I don't know much about Dreambox devices.

Here https://openpli.org/download/dreambox/DM800+SE+HD is for example, the Enigma2 OpenPLi from 2019-dec, for DM 800 SE.

However, there is a warning that this Enigma2 is only intended for:

1) only for original hardware (original DM 800 SE device from Drambox) and not for fake (clone) devices

2) and also this E2 image cannot be used for DM 800 SE V2

Its a very grey area, as in fact the hardware was 1:1 to the original (of the copies),... we have first generation with Sim 1.0 (DM800HDpvr), then the DM800HDse/DM500HD were cloned (by Ferrari, then Sim2 and finally estar Teams), then the DM8000HD was released a 1:1 copy by Ferrari Team, and finally the DM800HDseV2 was cloned by the Sim2 Team.

I talk about grey... as first the original DM boxes were produced in Taiwan, but after the production was relocated to China, to clone factory... estar ! Who produced the DM800HDse/DM500HD original boxes, and laters (Leontech Ltd was also setup in HK).

We had the DM900UHD clones, as well as the DM520HD / DM525HD, which looked like more a first version of DMM boxes, scrapped, that they sold as is with the Sim 3.0 Sim...

Let's clarify one thing, the A8P Sim, in fact was an original, at the end of the product line (DM800HDse/DM500HD and DM8000HD), there were the left original sims in stock that were sold alone, which helped clone owners to "upgrade" their box to original software...

In between, the Sim2 team was head cut, by the Chinese authorities (while they were doing the first DM800HDseV2 and the Solo2 clones), with the arrest of their Head (which also represented Broadcom in China and sold to "himself only" the chipset exclusively (to factories that accepted to take the chipset + the Sim2 and not from other teams sims) cutting out all other clone manufacturers, as there were 10s factories producing the DM800HDpvr... then the clone successors DM800HDse/DM500HD/DM8000 had to find the chipset from other world regions.

I would not talk about "fake hardware", as in fact it was a full replica, you could insert the A8P orginal sim (and software) and the box would act as an original one, as well as you understand that then the original boxes were produced by estar clone manufacturer (I bet the DM900UHD/DM52xHD as well... fyi), for DMM !

I doubt you will be able to do anything with this image if it is Openpli 4.0 mastaG which dates back to 2016. You write that you have three identical dm800se. What are the images on those two. Here on the dm800se topic you have Openpli 11.2 and 11.3 for a clone like yours (Ferrari sim2.10 ssl84D). Another option is to buy a Japhar sim3 card so you can install Openpli from toysoft .Cost 30 euro.

It is necessary to replace the sim on these boxes, to have the latest image available, and the Japhar sim has latest 2015 drivers, other sims estar/sim2 have drivers only from 2013, and Ferrari from 2012 (Kernel 2.6, and cannot with Ferrari sim work with Kernel 3.2).

A8P Sim is original sim, so it works with latest drivers as well, but you need to find an image for original box. Original image for OpenPLi is 4.0.

Openpli no longer supports Dreambox. The last official image is Openpli 4.0 from 2019 for original boxes (A8P). All that came later came from other teams (6.2, 7.0, 7.3, 11.2 and 11.3). I had some of those versions installed before. My dream is also dm800se with an original card. If you can even get an A8P sim then fine. If you already want Openpli then install 11.3 for your clone because you don't have much choice. There is also a topic here, so read it.

Ok Thanks, Now please kindly solve my confusion, I also have A8P Sim and i installed this image openpli-12.3-dm800se-original-20240425, released by mrlu in my D11, everything went smoothly, see thie pic.Now my confusion is that, as you said that the last original open pli for DM800HDse is

this openpli-4-release-dm800se-20191216. and according to the openpli.org the last supported version is 9.1 dated 20241228 for Newer Devices, then how come mrlu released 12.3 for Dm800se, its very confusing.

Very simple,

There is "fake openpli" images... like the 10/11/12 which never existed officially...

The last official OpenPLi for your box is 4.0 from OpenPLi Team.

Then there is teams, such as the Japhar, who compile the official image for boxes no more supported, which have the same version numbers, for example 7, 7.2, 8 or 9... but there was never a 10 or 11, or 12... which are "based on openpli" but are not openpli as there is a lot of things changed or modified.
