OpenATV 7.6 – Discussion & New Features

    just a quick update

    i did install the original firmware to the dm900 and then the openatv7.6 and still no joy it does state the image is downloaded succesfully but when its reboot i can see the image logo and the yellow progress bar on the box moving and then the red led infront of the box start flashing and the BOOM blue error screen.

    the strange thing its only happen to 7.6 openatv image if i download any other image it does download fine even the previous openatv 5.0 or 6.0 images are fine.

    any more suggestions will be apreciated

    It adds Develop Feed to image and updates your image to newest Develop (OpenATV 7.6.1)

    (not every box has a Devel Feed available)

    that line is to add dev level feed to your device you need to enter it in terminal

    There are no actual dev level images to download

    also getting crash when trying to restore settings when it says plugins found do you want to restore them and you select yes.


    using slyk-1080-r19 skin did not have this problem before.


    no crash with metrix hd skin

    I have a feature request for mediaplayer and mediaplayer2, could you please add "an enable option to invoke the keyboard" if needed to name or rename playlists, the way it is right now is by using the numeric keys on the remote control, i`m talking about vuplus zero4k on openatv 7.6, i honestly don`t know about other receivers.

    Yes error has been fixed I just did flash online with restore settings and ipk files were also installed from hard drive.

    but you need to flash todays image 2025/11/17 if it has been built yet for you device.

    I updated my Dreambox DM920 today D.17 always run software updates :smiling face:

    I don't know about fix for your error with recordings problems that keeps happenning even on logs you have postedthought it was a skin problem elsewere you were told to clean install .


    My discussion was on fast restore but as I said that is now working :smiling face:

    Captain , yes now fast restore is fully working again and plugins now also installing from local media.

    I am still geting crash if I try to restore settings,

    Example remove a plugin that has been installed that was installed from media/hdd/images/ipk

    then to settings restore when it gets to plugins found do you want to restore and I select yes system crashes

    using KiddaC slyk-1080-r19 skin

    but if I change to Metrix HD I do not get crash this was working before changes to fast restore.

    OK so openatv have been randomly changing names again.

    Yes I do have summary_description in all my skins. As does probably everyone elses skins

    But hey ho... metrix works ... so feck it.

    With hundreds of skins out there, why would you even change the name of elements.
