  • Two of my receivers. Low profile laptop cpu/gpu fan. Mount where appropriate to pull and exhaust heat.

Miniature solid state relay. Fans are 5 vdc so a 7805 linear regulator is used.

Mount where appropriate. Hot glue, epoxy. Use small heat shrink, insulating spaghetti.
Probe the unit to check for a switched (in standby) power source. Display is a good place to look.

Probe for fan power. If the receiver has provision for HDD, the 7805 can be eliminated. The PSU will most probably output 12 vdc....7805 is needed.

If you're lucky, a low profile CPU cooling fan can be screwed on the main processor heat sink porcupine fins.

You're a smart guy, you figure it out. Pull heat. Don't blow air past it. Do it neat, do it once.

  • Your set-up looks more professional and require some background about electricity basics. I will google it.

My first target to have simple and cheapest solution to cool the box and for this reason I direct the Air flow to the box not pulling it out,

I know this will accumulate dust in the box but this is better to seal the whole ventilator holes. May be I will blow it with Air gun from time to time.

    Appreciate your input

  • Heat moves to cool. The rule is to pull heat out. Simple and cheap? An appropriate computer PSU fan and wall wart transformer. Fan too loud? Lower the voltage a bit. Simple way.....12 vdc fan powered with 9vdc. Or a series potentiometer wired as a voltage divider.
