UPnP and OpenWebif issues – Unable to stream to other devices

  • Hi everyone,

I’m using openATV 7.5 and have a problem with OpenWebif and UPnP. With OpenWebif, I can only stream the currently watched TV channel to my PC, but no other channels. In VLC on Windows 10, UPnP shows no other devices in the network, so I can't play media there. Any help?

  • Do you have sufficient tuners to allow multiple services? What are you clicking on OWIF? If you click on the name, it will zap. However, to the left of the channel name, there is an option to stream.

Yes, I click on the computer icon you show in your picture. I only have one tuner, and I want to stream a different channel with that tuner while others watch what they want. So is it true that with OpenWebIf you can only stream the channel that is currently running on TV, but no other?

If OpenWebIf doesn't work, what about SatIpClient? Unfortunately, I can't find a helpful tutorial online.

It's not an issue with openwebif, it's a limitation of your tuners. You only have one tuner, so you can only access all the channels on the one transponder only. Whether that be streaming, viewing, or recording.

Do you have another Enigma2 receiver in the house on the same network as this receiver?

No, I don't have another one at home. So, for SatIP-Client you also need a different receiver? Is there a way to stream different channels from an Enigma2 receiver to various devices like a phone or PC simultaneously, while others are watching different channels?

The satellite receiver receives signal and converts it. You are then distributing it around. Because you only have one tuner, you are limited to one transponder. I can stream/record/view 16 transponders because of the receiver and LNB I have.

If you had multiple tuners which can independently receive signal, then you access as many transponders as you have tuners.

What kind of dish do you? How many LNBs? What type of LNB? Any switches? How many wires to where receiver is? Are you able to run more wires if required? What receiver do you have?

For SatIP, you are basically receiving DVB signal over IP. So yes, you need access to another source.

  • Actually, I don't know what kind of dish I have because it's not mine. I think it's just one LNB with three switches leading to the house, but only one receiver is connected. I have a Pulse4K Mini receiver. I forgot if the receiver has a password. Isn't that the one you use to log in to ChannelEditor?

It's a shame I thought SAT to IP was the solution for watching multiple different channels at once...

For any network connectivity, a password must be set. See here:

Please try to find out what these switches are on the dish setup. Do you have a second outlet you can connect to? If you are part of a unicable setup, we may be in luck.

I dont know much about Sat-IP, if you dont get an answer here, might be an idea to ask on on the openatv forum. They seem to have more people aware of it. Hopefully it is available over WAN and you can get someone to share with you.
