  • Hi Everyone, I have 2 xTrend Stbs, Et10000 [Et10k] & Et7100v2. Whenever I press any buttons of the controller of Et10k, Et7100 will also respond together and it goes the same with the controller of Et7100.

I found the setting for Remote Control is in Etc>enigma 2> settings and the settings for both the remotes are as follows,

    Et10k: config.plugins.remotecontroltype.rctype=9

    Et7100v2: config.plugins.remotecontroltype.rctype=16

Could any Master tell me how to change the codes of the controller please?

    Thank you

  • I don't know how true this is.

But chatgpt says to do this

Programming a Xtrend remote to match rctype

For the ET series, the common method is:

Press and hold OK + 2 (or OK + the correct number for the mode) for about 5 seconds until the LED blinks twice.

    Release both buttons.

The remote will now send the code set corresponding to that number.

    Mapping:

This varies by firmware, but for most Xtrend remotes:

Remote key combo r ctype value

    0 (default)
    OK + 1

    1
    OK + 2

    9
    OK + 0

    OK + TEXT (TXT)
    16

    OK + 0
    17

So for rctype=16 on your ET7100v2:

Hold OK + TEXT for ~5 seconds until LED flashes → releases → remote is now sending rctype 16 codes

  • Hi Master KiddaC, thank you so much for your advice.

I tried out the method a few times by pressing the ‘Text’ & ‘OK’ key for 5 seconds and also more than 5 seconds on the Et7100v2 remote, but the LED on the box didn’t flash. Both boxes still react together when pressing any key on any of the remote. Please Help

  • Hi Abu, I am very sorry as I did not understand exactly what KiddaC had said initially, until you mentioned it again. But the fact is I did not change the text color at all, it is all by default. I had just tried changing to red, hopefully it is the right color this time. Otherwise, please let me know.

  • let me suggest something out of the box.

This behaviour similar to Bluetooth rc of Chinese boxes

    So try

Turn your box from power plug ( disconnect it from power source).

    Wait 15 sec

Connect it to power while press and hold red key on your remote

It should flash for few seconds

If everything goes well it should working now on one box.

  • Hi Mahmoud, thank you for the advice.

I have done it a few times on both boxes but it did not work.

Please let me know if there are any other methods.

Which red key you pressed during the process, normally each rc has two red keys, one for power menu and second for functions,

Try each one separately, make sure you turn on the box while you press and hold your rc key and too close to your ir receptor or the front box screen
