  • Recently released Openatv 7.6 on the box which hadn't been used in years just to provide reliable free to Air TV instead of streaming

However satellite Astra 28.2 is the location my dish is set for as per previous S@y setup when a customer however it is receiving no channels after manual scan and Auto scan

Any ideas what I'm missing or if I need to update as it's been years and just trying to get back into it now

There is a LOT of FTA channels on 28.2° (even without a Sky Subscription you have plenty of choice), are you sure you setup properly the LNB model/type ? As the one installed by SKY on the mini dish is different I believe, it's like Unicable I think, USALS ??? I let specialists explain, need to be setup particularly on that type, and not as a normal LNB as we all use normally.

  • Thanks for the response so I just left the settings as normal and switched tuner A to Astra and when scanning it doesn't even return the FTA channels the Dish is a sky Mini Dish with standard LNB tried them in another location with a different dish and same issue so I kinda think it's a setting issue stopping it from returning it's a Z Gemma star S and same one Mutant HD51

  • To set up a Sky UK LNB on a Dreambox running Enigma2, you need to access the receiver's satellite configuration menu, select the correct LNB type for your installation (likely Universal or SCR), set the correct frequencies for Astra 28.2°E, and then perform a satellite scan to find the Sky channels.

    Here's a step-by-step guide:

    1. Physical Connection:

    • Connect the coaxial cable from your Sky LNB (Low Noise Block) to the "Sat In" port on the back of your Dreambox receiver.

    2. Access Dreambox Menu:

    • Press the Menu button on your Dreambox remote to open the main menu.
    • Navigate to the Setup or System Settings section.
    • Find the Service Searching or Satellite Configuration menu.

    3. Configure LNB Settings:

    • Select Satellite: Ensure the correct satellite for Sky UK, Astra 28.2°E (or equivalent), is selected or enabled.

    • LNB Type:
      • If you have a standard Universal LNB or an older model, select "Universal".

      • If you have a Sky Q compatible LNB, you might need to configure it for Unicable (SCR) mode, depending on your specific LNB and receiver setup.

    • Frequencies: Set the following frequencies for Astra 28.2°E:

      • Low Band (LOF1): 9.75 GHz
      • High Band (LOF2): 10.60 GHz
    • Tone Burst: Set to "On" if you are using a Universal LNB, which helps select the correct band.

    4. Perform Satellite Scan:

    • In the same menu, select the option to "Scan" or "Auto Scan" the selected satellite.

    • Choose to Scan for Free-to-Air channels or perform a Blind Scan if you don't have a channel list.

    • The Dreambox will search for available channels, which may take several minutes.

    5. Save Settings:

    • Once the scan is complete, save your settings to add the found channels to your Dreambox's channel list.

Have a look at the LNB for any obvious damage, sometimes the plastic cover at front of the LNBs wear out.

Which receiver please? How many wires are connected to the LNB? How many connection points on tuners do you have on your receiver? How many tuners have direct signal wires from dish/LNB?

Note: Every tuner with a signal wire should be set as simple, single, 28.2. Any tuner without a direct wire should be set as disabled/not configured.

    Edit:

Have any trees grown in front of dish that could obstruct reception.
