    Hi, who knows the solution for me?


    The Mutant HD500C uses OpenATV 5.3, which is a smaller image than the 6 MB version to save memory.


    I can't install just one version of EPGImport. I've already installed 2.1, 2.5, and 2.6 via Telnet, and it says "successfully installed."


    After that, I see this message in applications:

    "Some plugins are unavailable,

    Extensions, EPGImport, (No module named backports)"


    I can't get EPG to work on the Mutant HD500C.

    The plugin has been tested on Python 2.7 and Python 3,

    as well as on Dreambox and VU+ devices,

    Tested on several Image Dream Box and Open Source images, and it works excellently.

    I'm going to try it now on a Mutant HD500C,

    but I don't think it will work, since the box only has 128 MB of RAM.

    I'll try it with OpenATV 6.3 and your EPGImport version 2.6.2.

    Can I install version 2.62 with a USB stick or does it have to be done via Telnet?

    Current version: 2.6.3

    • Improved the download process for XZ files.

    • Tested on Dreambox and VU+, verified to work on images using Python 2 and Python 3.

    • Tested on Marlin, Gemini, and OpenATV images, as well Opensource image as PURE2, VIX, OpenPLI, and OpenATV.

    The official version I fixed for PLI and ATV is working fine.

    This plugin needs to be tested thoroughly. I think it's fine for DreamOS, but it's missing a thousand features that I had included in the Git version.

    I have no expertise in this matter. I'm not the author of the modification.


    I only checked the Python-style code for this plugin. Nothing else.

    But getting the author to digest some important rules isn't easy. :)


    But he is a very friendly and trustworthy person, he knows his stuff and puts in the effort.

    I do not know where the problem is. I am a hobbyist, not a professional, and I am doing my best to make the plugin work without any issues, for my benefit and for all users.


    It no longer belongs to Dorik1972; I have modified most of the code , open and try to take a look to the files codes. Thanks Lululla for your great support.

    Dorik1972's version worked only with the Open Source, and encountered many problems and crash when using it with the Dreambox.

    Please try my modified version with the Dreambox now, and I think you will like it.



    All the complaints that appeared since the first release were not caused by the plugin itself, but by users who had installation issues, did not remove old versions properly, or were using corrupted images with existing problems.


    I publish the plugin, and whoever finds it useful can continue using it. Anyone who does not like it can simply avoid using it and remove it.


    If you want me to stop releasing any new modifications, I have no problem with that. The plugin works perfectly for me.



    An important point in my modification, I have unified most of the files in the Dream and Open Source versions. The only difference is in one single file: EPGImport.


    I have added some features that were not present in previous Dreambox versions, such as " Clearing current Epg "" and ""Kill Running iport on start ""


    Isn't it good to have different versions with different features for the benefit of the user, so they can choose the version that suits them best?"



    I do no not care if the plugin be at feed or not, will not add star for me.

    I just had a problem myself, but it was my own fault.

    I first installed bouquetmakerxtream_1.71.20251211 and then immediately installed epgimport_2.6.3 without restarting.

    Then it didn't install properly and the Xtrend box crashed.


    So I reinstalled OpenATV 7.5.1 and restarted after each plugin installation.


    Everything works perfectly so far.

    Your taking this the wrong way I am just a normal member I was just mentioning about doric version because at first it was named epgimporter yes its good to have different versions but don't you think they need different names so as to stop confusion.

    Thank you for the clarification; this makes understanding easier and avoid misunderstanding. I am the only version that displays the version number on the plugin screen.

    Version number of your version is not the point being made. There are now 4 versions of the plugin.

    OpenPLi version

    OE-Alliance version (There is no open ATV version)

    Dorik version

    Your version.


    To avoid issues, you should really install in a different directory to the existing ones from plugin servers.


    It's a shame you want to go your own way instead of adding your improvements to existing versions. Anyway, that's your choice.
