loaded ubuntu x64 all worked fine but cccam crashes every 1 to 2 hours anyone else having this problem ?

I have cccam running 24/7 on test server with no problems m8.. there was an issue with a script uploaded a while back but if you follow posy #199 you should be able to unto that damage..
    http://linuxsat-support.com/li…ost137951.html#post137951
Check all the files mentioned in that post & report back

I Dont think that is the problem though because cccam never crashed for me on any script version..

have you by any chance installed x64 ubuntu on a machine that is not x64 cabable, that could fool the script? But in that case cccam would not work at all (I think)??

CCcam was crashing alot for me too yesterday on x32.
It had been fine for most of the week and the CCcam checkscript is working correctly as its restarting when it crashes .I have CCcam.x86 ,have not needed to change reference to cccam_2.1.3.
I am using the files Updated 2013-09-02 and I made the changes in post #192.

I examined my CCcam logs and I am getting some weird cache failure errors that are crashing CCcam.

This only seems to be coming from one peer and it is crashing CCcam, could be an issue at his end I guess.
    Any ideas ??

Also why is the Oscam bin only 400k in the autoinstall scripts yet it was 900k in the older scripts ?

The only thing that I can think of is that your peer might have an oscam only setup and has accidental set Cache-EX-Mode: to 1,2 or 3 instead of 0 for your reader..
The channel in question is "BT Sport 1", just out of curiosity have you got that channel on your local?
I also noticed that there are roughly 14 requests for the channel p/second, I'm not sure if this is normal behaviour or triggered by your peers setup?
I am trying to reproduce the error, I will report back

The oscam bin is compressed to 400k, this does not affect oscam.

  • This is a strange one m8 & I can't reproduce the error.

    Thanks thatfellow
Yes I have BT Sports on my local and it is working fine .
Looking at my CCcam logs the cache failure is for BT Sport 1 and BT Sports HD1 ,its weird .
Its only one peer that gives the error,I have checked it here on my two receivers and it clears fine.
It must be something on his end.

crashes every 1 or 2 hours for me on x32 and x64

Update: I moved all my family shares to to a cccam/oscam server setup from the auto-install to test for 2 days and zero problems to report.
Not one crash & no logs of cccam checkscript being needed.
The cpu load averaged at 0.04 on a single core 3.4 GHz cpu with 1GB Ram.

NOTE: One thing I did notice is that when the server rebooted after the auto-install had completed initially, two instances of cccam had started up.
This is a once off issue that is just down to very unlucky timing as cccam server was just starting up at boot seconds after the cccamcheck script had kicked in (or vice-versa)..
If you do find two connections from cccam in your oscam status tab just stop/start cccam with these commands:

    Stop

    Code
    killall -9 [COLOR='#FFA500']cccam_2.1.3[/COLOR]

    Wait for 10 seconds &
    Start

    Code
    cd /usr/local/bin
    ./[COLOR='#FFA500']cccam_2.1.3[/COLOR] -b

Replace cccam_2.1.3 with the filename of your cccam bin file located @ /usr/local/bin

Hey, not far in and got a question, what version of putty do I download, is it 'putty-0.63.tar.gz' from the link provided above?

Instead use CS Studio, this will give you CCcam info, putty & winscp all in one tool.

  • Oh ya, too early I guess, lol. Is there a step by step tutorial or do I just follow this one and leave out installing the winscp file and cccam-ascam file?. Just put ubunto on a disc to install and wanted to make sure ive got everything in place before jumping in :)

No follow the guide as you were but instead of downloading winscp & putty separately use cs studio which has everything needed to setup, monitor & maintain your server.

  • Ok guys please be gentle with me, my first time working with ubuntu. So I downloaded ubuntu server iso, put on to disc. Followed the above instructions to install it but after installing ubunto my system reboots into what looks like a dos screen asking for username and password. So I put that information in, it logs me in but just takes me to another command line. Is there a front end more graphical side of ubuntu server? ie were I can use the mouse and find directories as opposed to manually typing root files etc... Hope im making sense! Also how would I install any of the above names programs by only having access to the terminal screen?? Really confused, think im missing something, any help would be appreciated. Only half hour in and ive hit a brick wall :(

This is Ubuntu Server edition, No graphical user interface.. You can install one but that is defeating the purpose of using server edition..
Use the commands here to Run/Admin your server..
    http://linuxsat-support.com/li…oscam-cccam-commands.html

You should need very little interaction with your server once all is setup..

  • Brilliant, how would I install programs? TenBelow advised me to use CS Studio instead of putty and winscp. Should I install this now? Also should I setup a static ip on another computer ive got on the network or do it through ubuntu server? If the server how do I get a browser interface up? Sorry for the lack of knowledge ive got :(

  • Ok so up to now I have installed Ubuntu server on a desktop but not done anything else with it, ive installed cs studio on a separate computer running windows 7 but both on the same network, ie plugged into router. Ive gone into the router manually and setup a static IP address for the ubuntu server but really not sure what I have to do from here. Do I do something with the server, ie terminal lines etc or do I do something with cs studio via my windows 7 computer? Please guys any help would be appreciated.

  • Hey guys, im still waiting for the penny to drop for me but unfortunately not there yet. Not sure if I am explaining myself correctly but here goes. I want to cardshare my personal sly subscription with my friends and family so picked up a dual core computer with 3gb ram for the server. Ive installed ubuntu server 12.4 on this but done nothing else with the server. I have my personal computer that im using now currently running on windows 7, Ten below advised me to use cs studio instead of putty and winscp, not too sure what any of these programs do just to make you aware, originally I thought cs studio had to be installed on the server but ten below advised it needs to be installed on a separate computer. Ive gone into my router and setup a static ip for the server but not opened a port as of yet, not completely sure how to do it via my router settings. Feel like I have only completed number 1 of this tutorial but not sure on where I go from here now. Would it be possible for admin to teamviewer my system or give me some advice. mckee25 sent me a tread regarding cs studio but still at my wits end :( (thanks though mckee25). Bought an Omnikey CardMan 3121 so should be delivered on monday, just wanted to try get everything in place before then. Please guys any help would be really appreciated. If someone can give me 1 to 1 help id send ya the best bottle of jim beam Asda have to offer, lol
