Ive installed the files in the first post , the bouquets and have the softcam running but I'm having issues opening Sky DE.
The channels Sport 1 HD and Sport1+ work fine but most of the other channels like Sky Sports only open for 10 seconds then cut off.
The ecm times look low enough.
Am I correct in thinking that the Reader Emulator isn't needed if using external shares ?
I disabled it but the channels are not clearing for more than 10-20 seconds.
Anyone have any ideas ?
It will take years to switch off SD sports channels ,they cant do so until all SD boxes have been replaced.

I have a Truman Topbox satellite receiver (basically an Amiko Alien 2) and while it's OK as an experiementing box, it's unreliable for everyday use, and of course slow sometimes.
Now am taking a look at the VU+ Zero or Solo SE v2 (Dual S2 tuner version), as these are the ones available here and within my budget. The Solo is priced about 25% more than the Zero.
My main box requirements are: 1xDVBS2 tuner is enough, reliable, responsive navigation, great picture quality, fast zapping, and good support for dreamplex and KodiDirect plugins. So, basically am looking for the best choice of the two to replace my SH4 box and Rasbperry Pi Kodi.
Well you are not going to get great picture quality with the Vu Zero or Solo SE V2 ,or indeed any Mips receiver.
The Receiver you have has a vastly superior SD picture and slightly better HD picture ,SH4 receivers are the best for picture quality.

Well i've had this box for over a week now, and the title say's it, admittedly as i have now realised i should done a lot of reading up on the subject.
I knew that there was very little UHD content out there, and what there is, is only demo's and what ever i try don't look any better than HD, and upscaling don't seem to do anything to improve HD.
Upscaled Hd will result in a poorer picture than on a normal 1080p set.
The upscaled SD will also look worse than on a 1080p set which in turn is worse than a 720p set.
More pixels have to be interpolated on a UHD set so the resulting picture is noisier and inferior.
The only real advantage a UHD set has over a 1080p set is displaying native UHD content ,for anything else a 1080p set or even 720p set for SD content is better.
The Arm processor should give a better picture quality than Mips as its a better architecture for video processing .
Mips is a poor processor if picture quality is a primary factor .
will it run oscam?
Yes ,of course .
It will run the same cams as any other receiver ,it runs Vix and Openatv images among others.
remember this machine is still going after all these years the build quality is great
The picture quality is also unbeatable especially SD .
Receivers like the Solo 2 are obviously a much superior receiver but the picture quality on Mips based receivers is pretty poor in comparison to Sh4 based receivers like the Alien 2.
Its disappointing that whilst Mips Enigma 2 receivers are getting more and more powerful the sd picture quality on them is still the weak spot.
It would be nice to have the power of the 1.3Ghz cpu receivers but the picture quality of the Sh4 cpu .

I'd recommend a Gibertini or a Triax dish.
I had a Gibertini 1m dish before ,superb dish ,very well made and made of aluminium so it never rusts.
Think I paid 70 euro for mine .
image loaded onto box im a bit lost with oscam i have found oscam file via ftp in var-emu is this correct? do i have to activate oscam via box remote? could someone show me an example of how to write my cline into oscam as its first ever seen oscam
Oscam is already running on the backup.
You need to enter your details in the oscam.server file as described above by juvent11,its located in /var/keys

Thats the smaller file sized version so it should load better on your receiver ,the larger 128MB backups you have tried can have Nand issues.

Hi, have installed image and it runs very well i have put mgcamd on and all $ channels are working one strange thing for me is it will not open the RTE Irish channels i have an alien2+ using the 2 tuners for sat, not using the terrestrial tuner,the main problem i have is it will record the channel but i cannot watch any other encrypted channels only the free to air, not much good for twin tuners. is there something i can do to be able to watch one and record.

As far as I am aware mgcamd will only decrypt one channel at a time on the Alien 2.
You will have to use Oscam to decrypt 2 channels simultaneously.
The Irish channels require an Irish sub to open them,maybe your share is a uk sub,that's why they wont open perhaps.
You can select what services your users get or dont get in Oscam by editing user services settings.
You will need to create an oscam.services group with all of the 963 and 960 channels in it.

Lraizer has discovered the fault. Could someone please try this reader file for SH4 receivers. It is the correct one from 20131114 with the edits for the BT Sports Interactive edits. Was my mistake, sorry.
Just tested that now on an Alien 1 with Autobouquets July 21st 2015 build and it works perfectly .
Also tested the September 21st build ,that works perfectly too.

Why does it need to be OE1.6 when you have an original receiver ? all of the images available for that kernel are ancient.. The best option would be the latest OE2.0 OpenATV 5.1 image..
Openatv dont have a 5.0 or 5.1 image for the Dm800 .
4.3 is the newest version for it.
I prefer 4.2 though as the streaming works better on that over 4.3 .

BTW - I noticed it has the original pti.ko. Is this version working ok with multiple tuner use? I will also test this tonight...

It works fine with multiple tuner use,I don't think this was ever an issue with Hyperion images ,only other images like HDMU and Openatv.

I am pretty sure autobouquetsmaker doesnt run on sh4 receivers master G.
Recent builds of autobouquets aren't working on sh4 based receivers either,try an older build from 2014 ,they work perfectly.
