Anyone else having an issue with Openatv 5 where if you bring up the channel list and select a channel the picture only comes up in a small section of the screen ,the preview screen ?
Its very annoying and happens with the channel preview turned off ,the only way to get the picture full screen is to bring up the channel list again and reselect the channel .
it works ok with the preview on but you have to press the ok button twice .

Fano your backup image 4.5 the last few days theres been alot od updates and so on and when the updates arnt added there starts issues with the channel scans, i try to keep up-to-date without loosing the settings as much as possible but there has been 1 where any scan doesnt complete only takes you to around 86% this not being your issue but it seems alot of people are using your backup for its simple to use and stability, but i think it may need a little tweaking or updated as i fear this version is fast becoming a little outdated.

When you mean updates ,you mean channels changing frequency is it ?
Does Autobouquets not tune the channel updates for you ,its a bit laborious running a full scan every so often.
Perhaps a new satellite.xml file ,from here http://satellites-xml.eu/ may help.

Its funny you should mention this as I was just going to upload an updated backup image .
Its got an updated .xml file , and I added TSpanel,Sky Skin,Rats Bouquets loader and Rats Picons loader and a newer version of Autobouquets .

im biased and would say the alien2, but you have to look at what you can afford the start there

but i have the a2 running sat and cable and have no problems on HDMU (its not for the faint hearted) but is well built for the price, picture is next to none on sd and hd and cheap about £120 for a triple, but like i said if you have more to you budget go for something else

I like the Alien 2 as well ,I'm using one as my main receiver and I cant really fault it.
Great sd picture on it too as pauldb mentions ,very noticeable on a large set.
The only grumble I'd have is that I'd prefer an internal hard drive for recording .

Another option is the Xpeed LX2 currently on offer at a great price.
Whilst its a twin tuner it supports a cheap usb terrestrial tuner so it can become a triple tuner easily too.
Very good support for it and as its been on the market a few years the images are very stable.
It has a 700Mhz Cpu ,512MB of Ram and 512MB of Flash.

I wouldnt recommend the World vision force 1+ as it has very limited support and I know a few people with Edision Optimuss o3+'s and they say the software is still buggy
I considered upgrading to one from the Alien 2 but was advised not to by someone who has both receivers.

The Nano 3T is another option ,exact much same spec as the World Vision force1+ and the Edision but better support.
They are all around the same price.

The Gigablue Quad is also a contender ,it has excellent support .
The Vu+ Solo 2 can also support a usb terrestrial tuner so it can be used as a triple tuner .

Finally there's the ZGemma Star which is a budget twin tuner but can support a usb terrestrial tuner .

Then theres the Xtrend receivers ,the Mutants etc at the higher end .

Lots of options for different budgets.

THis is also acceptable - just what the X3 has. However I just downloaded the user manual for the xpeed - good job I can read German eh - and it's only vol +/-, no channel change, so again close, but no ceegar.

However as no-one seems to be making a cheap box with 4/5 front panel buttons looks like I'll be keeping my money and fixing the X3.

The Amiko Alien 1 and 2 have front panel buttons
    Menu,Ok,Vol+,Vol-,Ch+,Ch-

They both satisfy your other criteria .

Load Hyperion 4.5 Enigma 2 image on them and they are a really solid box and they have an excellent sd picture quality .

I think the Nbox5800 has a similar front panel but they have to be modded to run Enigma 2

Isnt this the UK version of Setanta?

I wonder if they are going HD?

    Yes ,it is

Premier Sports is essentially Setanta Sports 1 ,its the same feed for both channels since 2013,but some programmes are blocked due to rights issues
i.e Premier League is blocked on a Premier Sports sub ,whilst Championship Gaa is blocked on a Setanta sub

Setanta Sports 1 will be HD come August

    Quote

I have read that Setanta HD has an exclusive deal with UPC (ireland cable), so we may not see this on the satellite platform anytime soon

    Thats Setanta Ireland HD
There are 2 Setanta channels on a Republic of Ireland Setanta sub,Setanta Ireland and Setanta Sports 1.
Setanta ireland is free on UPC ,its part of the Setanta pack on satellite which also includes the BT channels and ESPN in Ireland.

Glad to here you got it going canthackit

Oscam can be like that ,one small little setting change can make all the difference, sometimes I prefer Cccam for its simplicity .

v7 dreamset to convert rats no scan done but set sat in options works ok no problems here internal on both cam types exsternal via mgcamd in Dyndyns
    server running oscam to mgcamd

What are you using as boxtype ,pc or dreambox in oscam.conf ?

    - - - Updated - - -

I now have Oscam opening most channels but some say scrambled .(boxtype=dreambox)
However if I go up a channel then back down again it opens the scrambled channel most of the time .

Is Android giving so much grief , when i tried it in the beginning i had it all working but that was a good while ago when i got my first wetek ,im surprised there is so much hassel with it im going to flash a card later and try , are you loading an e2 list for this ?

I am using an E2 list yes ,Rats latest one but I did a full scan first.

kk now where user name of reader is on wetek make sure the box with want EMU is ticked and reboot all :)

    Makes no difference

    Edit:
I changed boxtype back to dreambox from pc and its working properly now
Well its clearing most channels but not others like Sky Premiere arent clearing
I get this on the scrambled channels
PMT file /tmp/pmt.tmp is updated -> stop descrambling demuxer #0

    Edit:
And now Sky Premiere is working ,after making no changes ,weird
    Sky Comedy not working though

    [dvbapi]

I am using this version of Oscam

I'm having the same issue here

Oscam was opening most channels bar a few when the user was anonymous but now that I am using setting similar to yours I have eradicated the anonymous user but none of the scrambled channels are clearing.

My server is issuing ecms's and the wetek is receiving them but on screen it says scrambled.

Hay Frano, can you tell me which way you rescan your channels on this image ? Being using it for a few months now and its solid so i don't want to mess it up by re scanning and sending channels all over the place, i`ve done a channel scan under service searching, do i now run autobouquets ? and thats it ?

You can just run autobouquets on its own Bobby ,you don't need to do a channel scan first .
Autobouquets should automatically retune the channels for you .

Alternatively you can install Rats channel loader plugin
    http://linuxsat-support.com/showthread.php?t=62737
However that will overwrite any existing bouquets that you have so bear that in mind if you choose to use that.

This image is an interesting concept but the software is only trial ware for 14 days , the backup function and the online update function, however, are not available.
After the 14-day trial period, each user can then decide whether he wants to continue to use the operating system and get a TitanNit license itself for 19.99 euro.

    Background
TitanNit SH4 is linux based and is based on ST micro electronics opensource linux project made for the Super-H chipset called (STLinux).
The basic Linux Image used in the SH4 project is the open source Project open-duckbox-project-sh4

For performance reasons we have opted to use C programming language
In other DBox derived products such as the dream box and VU+ they have opted for a python layer to operate on top of the operating system. Python is a higher level scripting language used to define and setup elements in the gui and for an interim language between the OS that is easily programmable. This was done so that users can easily develop and manipulate the system and integrate plugins skins etc... into the system but this has a performance hit on these system and can cause them to become slow and laggy and bloated but has the benefit of being easy for the community to develop for with out knowing much about the underlying system.

Due to the missing Python Chip and low CPU speed the sh4 receivers have always had problems with Enigma2.
The constant improvement and expansion of Enigma2 and the TDT Git was comprehensive and time-consuming.
The alternative Neutrino GIT at that time was not laid out to support twin tuner Receivers.
Nit then decided to combine both, the Enigma2 and the Neutrino, to a new Gui which implemented all advantages of both systems.
Neutrinos main advantage has always been its speed
Enigma2's advantage was the ease of integration and expansion with skins and extensions
These two systems combined into one new system was the basic idea of Titan.

The SH4 chipset has been popular with the satellite community because of the quality of the display output due to inclusion of a high class floating point math unit and high speed bus which is the key components used for drawing graphics
The Mips chipset has proved popular in the STB market because of the inclusion in the Dreambox Receivers that has spawned clone and copy cat receivers, but it has a draw back that it lacks finness in the picture quality department over the SH4 based receivers.
