It is openvpn, they of course never updated it to use their current libraries, and when someone posted on their site that it was broken, it was ignored, of course. Which is really funny, because they posted just a short time ago that they wanted more feedback from users. What a joke.

    Here is there lame response:

They still haven't fixed Crossepg reverting to Internal Flash, has been an issue for years.
Have they fixed the tuner locking out on the Alien 2 with the fix you posted Joe ?
I'll never understand why they dont implement these small issues instead of bringing out new images with the same bugs.

thanks for the reply world of satellite,
i had a look at the xtrend and i liked it , but dint quiet understand the technical part of the input '2x DVBC/T/T2' does this mean 2 inputs ; 1 for sat + 1 for aeriel ! how many channels do you think i can record simultaneously witht the xtrend ,there is no mention of this info in the description .

    2x DVBC/T/T2 means 2 Saorview tuners,no satellite tuner.
You probably need this version ,which has 2 satellite tuners and one Saorview tuner.
    http://www.world-of-satellite.…0-2x-DVB-S2-1x-DVB-C-T-T2
This will allow you to record 2 different satellite channels and one Saorview channel at the same time, perhaps more if they share the same transponder frequency.

The Saorview tuners are usually split over two transponders so if you are recording RTE1 HD you cant watch RTE2HD as they are on seperate frequencies.
To overcome this I loop the Saorview out from the box into the back of my tv effectively giving me 2 Saorview tuners and making the setup a quad tuner.

After alot of huff and puff, and a fair amount of foul language, I finally managed to restore my backups using True Image 2013 .
I installed it on my pc and it restored the backups (made using True Image 2011) correctly.

True Image 2011 and 2012 did not work ,the restored backups wouldnt boot .

Hopefully this may be of use to others.

Hi Fanco I am having this problem did you ever reslove

    No m8,I couldnt resolve it.
It doesnt happen with the Metrix HD skin but it happened with any other skin I tried.
Metrix HD is too demanding to use so I just went back to Hyperion ,which is a better image anyway.

I havent tried Openatv 5.1 yet ,I probably wont to be honest.

Get the ET8000 instead for £159 ,its newer than both of those receivers and it has a faster processor ,more Ram and can accommodate a third plug and play tuner .
    http://www.world-of-satellite.…s/Xtrend-ET8000-2x-DVB-S2

Its arguably the best priced 1.3Ghz Broadcom based receiver on the market along with the Technomate Nano 2 Super, which is also an excellent receiver.

My server USB flash drive on the Fx170 ,has developed an error so so it looks like it has had too many writes .
It was going strong for over a year which is pretty good.

I made a number of backups using Acronis True Image over the last year but I cant get the server to boot on a new flash drive.
    http://linuxsat-support.com/showthread.php?t=15980
I wrote the backup to the new flash drive using Acronis and it writes the data correctly but its not booting into ubuntu at all.
It just goes to "waiting for dmi pool data" and then reboots .

I'm not sure do I need to modify the grub as the flash drive is different or does Acronis automatically do this ?

I also tried boot repair disk to try and reload the grub file but this just goes to a black screen when loading for some reason.

Does anyone have any ideas as to whats the issue ,I saw someone on another forum say they had similar issues develop from Ubuntu 12.04 on (thats what I have) ,before that Acronis backups worked fine.

    Many thanks

Yep I have auto bouquets e2 in my plugin list then I hit ok on it then start it takes a while but there is nothing there still all German alternative.

Ok ,I think I know the problem.
You mentioned "Time out for tuner lock".
I have had this issue with newer versions of Autobouquets on the Alien 8900 and Alien 2 using both Openatv images and Hyperion.
I've mentioned it to Lraizer on another forum so hopefully he may be able to solve it .
The older versions from last year work fine but the ones from May on are not running.

What image have you loaded on ?
    Is it still Openatv ?

You should be able to redownload Autobouquets from the plugins server

thanks people i now have image installed with cccam running no problem.

how do i resolve this issue i have on some channels.

    SERVICE NOT FOUND
    (SID NOT FOUND IN PAT)

Sid not found means that the channel has changed frequency so needs to be updated.
You can run the Autobouquets plugin or the Rats Channel updater plugin to get an updated channel list.

    1. Download the plugin.zip attached. Extract the whole folder and copy it to the root of any USB stick
    2. Boot the box into the default Spark operating system. If your box is in Enigma already, turn it off, hold in the OK button on the box and keep it pressed, turn on the box and release the OK when you see the FORC message on the box. Press the Up arrow on the box which will then say SPAR and then press OK
    3. Insert the stick into the box. The system will see the stick being installed and prompt for the installation of the plugins - say "Yes"
    4. Download and copy the pre-prepared image of your choice to a USB stick. You can copy any number of images to the same stick, putting each in it's own separate directory on the stick. An image contains two files - uImage and e2jffs2.img
    5. Press Menu, Press Down and Right to plugins. Select the e2upgrade plugin from the list. On screen, you then will see a box with /c/storage in black writing in a yellow bar across the centre of the screen. Click OK to navigate to the folder you want, press Red to select and press Red to Upgrade
    6. Upon completion, turn off the box. Press and hold the OK button, Turn ON the box and wait until you see the front panel say FORC. At this point, release the OK button. Press the DOWN arrow button on the box and it will display ENIG. Press and Release the OK button.
    7. The box will now reboot into Enigma

Hehehe yeep i did it only for you :-) and if i have time tomorow i will see if i can digg out some old DM and some other stuff, acctualy was nice to see some old things in my collection :-)

that is not even half the garbage i have manage to buy over the years, but this is an hobby. It is like fishing, if you are hooked then you are going to fish for life, same with me and sat hobby i was hooked for life and i spend all my hard earned money on testing. Offcourse over the years this is becoming like an nightmare as im so focused to test out new boxes :-(

    Its some collection :welldone:

Nono, TM and Clarketech have never made Enigma2 boxes on same factory :-) TM uses Iqon, while CT used Xtrend
and acctualy the Clarke has nothing more common with Xtrend. Xtrend is on it is own nowdays.

In the beggining i was so against the Clarke-Tech with their ET 9000 , as they have had an big mountain with problems, but since Xtrend is on it is own then everything has changed to the best, in my opinion :-)

TM and Clarke-tech made other non Enigma2 boxes on Hub-tech :-) while Enigma2 boxes from TM, Edison, New Megasat , and some other OE Brands they are all made on DAGS :-)

Thanks for clearing that up ,its complicated nowadays with all the different set top brands and so many rebadged receivers to know what is exactly what.

Nowdays im not si exited anymore with Enigma2 boxes, they do not offer anything new anymore, but for an average guy that likes to see tv and have some more things to explare then Enigma2 is fun.
For more advanced guys then there is not much out there that makes you realy be exited :-(

I was very very extited about the Wetek, but even that is an Exellent box for the money, but not as much exited as i would like it to be.

Wetek is promising ,but at the moment its a jack of all trades but a master of none so to speak. It still has time to develop though.
Most users just want a Linux receiver that will match the functionality of tv platform providers like Sky and Enigma 2 receivers have accomplished that now.

Just what i could digg out of the dusts :-) there are more boxes out there that i can make picture off, that i have not used in a while
I have to digg dipper but im sure in the atic there is more boxes :-) this in the picteu is the one that i have in my test bench atm :-)

Comparing is carring :-) and life for an old rusty guy like me is not much fun without testing boxes, and lnbs or installing some odd dish setup

Fano, Xtrend is made in South Korea :-)

Wow,I hope you didnt go to all that trouble just for me :17_002:

That's a serious amount of receivers there ,impressive.

I shouldn't have said you were a fanboy ,and I agree with your earlier comments about the Xtrend receivers being good and the Vu+ being overhyped.

What I took umbrage to, were your comments about the Edisions and TM's being shit.
Technomates and Clarke Tech receivers used to be made in the same factory in Korea,Hub-Tech I think (I'm not sure if that is still the case though)

The early Technomate/Iqon linux receivers were shit I'll give you that ,especially the Tm800.
I had a Tm500 Super for a while ,it wasnt terrible but it wasnt great either.
I cant fault the Nano 3T though .

Realy guys, common , tell me what is good about the TM the Edison.
what is TM Nano 3T Basen on, maybe the Iqon Force ????? and you tell me that is a good box, hahhahahhah
Nothing agains TM or Edison, but they lack the power to be compared with Vu+ or Xtrend or Gigablue or any other comon Enigma2 box. Even Formuler is much much beter then boxes from IQON Facroty.

    Lacks power ?
Specification wise the TM or Edision are almost exactly the same as the Vu+ Solo2 or the Xtrend 8000 .
They use the same chipset, have the same amount of Ram and are supported by alot of the same teams .
How can you say it lacks power ? Its nonsense

The Xtrend receivers are good receivers as are the Vu+ receivers.
I personally think Vu+ receivers are overrated ,they seem to be hyped up too much as there are plenty of other good receivers with good image support out there now covering a wide range of budgets.
The Xtrend ET8000 is excellent value at just over two hundred euro for the twin tuner model.

And i have tested many boxes to be made fool and belive the boxes made from IQON are good
Please tell me what agenda do i have ?? are you acusing me for having some intrest behind Xtrend or what. and if so how can you backuo your accusations ?
I give a tos about Xtrend or Vu+ or Edison or TM or any other box brand , and do not care, in my eyes OE brands than produces boxes from IQON factory are pile of shit

Where do you think the Xtrend or Clarke Tech receivers are made ?:29_002:
    What factory ?

    @Lader49
Do not buy one of them boxes, they are really shitty boxes, same as TM boxes, and Iqon boxes, same shit from same factory

Thats a pretty sweeping statement .

The images on the Edision do seem a bit flakey but the images on the Technomate Nano 3T are excellent.
Nothing wrong with the recent Technomate Linux receivers ,to label them as "shit" sounds like fanboy drivel, and not an objective opinion.

If you upgrade to this does it delete your apps, addons and settings or leave them intact ?

To answer my own question ,my apps ,addons and settings were retained after the update.

It was a nightmare trying to do the online update this time.
It kept stopping at 65% download.
I eventually figured out that I didnt have enough free space ~300Mb so the updater couldnt download the update fully.

Once I cleared enough space the download stopped at 100% and said press the button to update but no update button appeared, this happened twice in a row.
Eventually I got it to work after about 10 attempts ,I should have just done the manual update .:06:
