As mentioned above no need to follow above tutorial (It is based on older drivers & is obsolete with latest drivers) all the required omnikey tools & packages are installed with script..
    Post your oscam.server
& also post results of running pcsc scan from terminal so we can confirm that your omnikey is connected & recognised by system:

    Code
    pcsc_scan

    Quote

will reinstall as i think I overlooked that and just went ahead and tried to install them from the link which may of made things worse

Reinstall from script will be messy, all the crontab stuff will be doubled up as well as a few other issues..
This script is best suited for fresh OS install unless you are prepared to clean up yourself afterwards..
I think a lot of the problems posted are down to the fact that people are running script 2-3 times..
I will make a clean-up script to undo previous install and post it later..

You could also try to completely remove & reinstall all pcsc drivers
    Log in as root user

    Code
    apt-get --purge remove libpcsclite-dev libpcsc-perl libpcsclite1 pcsc-tools pcscd

    Then reboot system
    Then reinstall whats necessary

    Code
    apt-get update
    apt-get install libssl-dev libpcsclite1 libpcsclite-dev
    apt-get install pcscd pcsc-tools

  • Did you first uninstall all the packages as requested above?
Is this a modified light ubuntu or normal ubuntu server?
You seem to have added repositorys to /etc/apt/sources.list

You have still not posted result of:

    Code
    pcsc_scan

Can you also tell us the version & release of Ubuntu so I can test?
    e.g. Ubuntu Server 12.04 LTS (x64)

  • thank you for reply again,Ive just installed a new Version of ubuntu which is 13.04 and followed the Tut guide again and all now seems well I had missed some steps before by mistake or the version of ubuntu was just not happy with the commands used.
Now Its allowing me to login to oscam with default info I am wanting to set up the card reader again and can see this info showing
Bus 002 Device 002: ID 413c:3200 Dell Computer Corp. Mouse
    iProduct 2 Dell USB Mouse
    iSerial 0
Bus 002 Device 003: ID 076b:3021 OmniKey AG CardMan 3121

    iProduct 2 OHCI Host Controller
    iSerial 1 0000:00:02.0

Would you be able to explain how to add the reader with correct configs please

  • Hello. I have a small but very big problem with this script. I install to my pc ubuntu 12.04.0 LTS 64bit to this virgin os I installed this automated oscam/cccam app. The installation ran without any problem
and after reboot my computer. My big problem this script or app change something in the users login and the user password too, because after reboot ubuntu appear login page but my password which I
set under ubuntu installation is not working (I know 100% my pass but is not work) I try to login as guest but also cannot, so now I have an unuseful machine with login page.... Anyone have same experience or
solution why change my pass this app or what/why changed my login settings and pass this app ???
This is strange because in the login page if I type my pass ubuntu not say "wrong password" only the screen goes black for few seconds and ubuntu drop back again to the login page, same situation if i try to login
    as guest....

  • You can open the script up in an editor like notepad++, there is nothing in the script to change passwords.
This script has been tested countless times with 12.04 LTS x64/x32
EDIT: Re-testing on 12.04 LTS x64, I will report back asap

EDIT 2: Script ran smoothly and no problems logging in as original user.

Are you using Ubunty Server or Ubuntu Desktop?
