Hi brian45, a quick hello in Introductions is required before you use the forum...
Convert the N line with this tool, CCcam to Oscam – Converter...
Link doesn´t work.
I just want to know which confiig files are required to run oscam as ac client against newcs.
Is it only oscam.server? Do I also need to setup oscam.conf and oscam.user?
Please advice how to setup for a client only
/brian
yes you must have all these files conf, user, oscam server.
Any specific reason to choose oscam as client for newcamd ?
I use mgcamd now an it works perfect but I want to learn about oscam as a client.
/brian
please advice how to setup only as client to newcs.

Do you mean that the only config file to be used is oscam.server?

Dvbapi will need to be enabled in oscam.conf and an [account] created for it in oscam.user...
If you are adding a client oscam.server is the file that needs editted...
sorry for that i don`t read 1-st post carefully
I downloaded the config files for oscam.
I tried to use only oscam.sever and then it didn´t work.
Then I added oscam.user just like it was downloaded without setup anything:
# oscam.conf generated automatically by Streamboard OSCAM 1.00-svn build #3527

then it worked!
What is needed in oscam.conf to get it work?
/brian
I don't have any experience with this receiver so I apologise in advance, if anything I say is not quite factually correct in relation to the receiver.
If I am understanding correctly you wish to use oscam as a client, and you want to connect to mgcam, is this edition of mgcam run locally on this box or on another receiver?
On the box Relook I have Newcs as server and mgcamd as a client on ipbox9000 I now have oscam as client with the filles oscam.server and oscam.conf.
The card is in the Relook box.
The next step is to try oscam as both server and client in Relook box where the card is.
The I want to setup oscam as a client to cccamserver. Just to learn about different emu:s.
But now I am going on holiday for some weeks.
/brian
In all honesty, mgcam, cccam and newcam are pretty straight forward and there are reams of tutorials in the corresponding sections.
Oscam takes a lot more getting your head round as there are a lot more options, its far more robust than any of other three you mention.
Have a good holiday, come back refreshed, get your head round mgcam, cccam and newcam.
Then tackle oscam, as the knowledge gained from the others will be of use to you here.
At least that would be my advice.
Anyway Bon Voyage for now.
