What are Networking Homeplugs

Just looking at boxes and all the added options but not sure what networking homeplugs are about and do i need to select the option available??

HomePlugs are simply adapters that plug into your electrical wall sockets to create a data and multimedia network over your existing ring-main wiring..

If you have poor wireless coverage from your wireless router, a HomePlug kit will allow you to create a reliable wireless signal in the problem areas where the signal is weak..

If your receiver is wired to the router with an ethernet cable you will have no need for a homeplug..

depending on which stb ,etc you want to connect ,,
apparently most stbs perform better through wifi.
PLCs need to be connected through a direct mains line ( meaning through same fuse )
as there are a lot of tension peak losses.(when domestic appliances are being run for example)
another option is a wifi extender with a lan port, these are more expensive but give both options..
300mbps is the standard for HD streaming, etc..
Devolo are excellent .
