I would most definetly check my server security if in fact this is true,,
because there is only one way of changing a password and thats manually !!!!!
read the security stickies in cardsharing section for the how-tos....
in fact my friend , after checking,,you have too many open doors to your duo..
close every port except the one you use to serve..

  • I am using an old black hole 1.0.0.2010-06-05 and I cant find any of what you mention in my system/menu. Im a nubie at this so please explain a bit further. I was told that if I flash a new image then it will clear the password. I have read up on how to fladh and although im unsure how to do it im even more unsure on what image to use as there are so many. Could you please explain in simply terms.

  • Yes, I made a nieve mistake and didnt realise what In was doing and now im paying the price for it. Apparently the web interface was kept open and the lines have been shared. This has now been stopped but the password has been changed and the provider can get access back to the stb. I am told that if I flash a new image then it will clear the password. I am using the image that the dealer put in 1.0.0 2010-06-05 black hole. I have read up on how to flash it and although im unsure on doing it im even more unsure as to what image to use. could you advise me please in fact all I want to do is reset the password the easiest way possibly. Could you please explain in simply terms. I thank you if you can

BlackHole or OpenViX are the most popular and best supported on this forum..

Update the bootloader first then flash an image, the same method is used for both processes..

Get the bootloader HERE - http://linuxsat-support.com/vu…69-duo-cfe-rev-3-0-a.html..

Format a usb memory stick to FAT32..

Download the bootloader/image of choice, it will come packed in an RAR format, use WINRAR to extract this file..

Right click on the file and "extract here", you will see a vuplus folder, copy this folder to the usb memory stick..

Power off the duo from the switch at the back, connect the usb memory stick into the front panel ( make sure no other usb devices are connected to the back ) then switch on the duo again, you will see an indication of the flash procedure on the front VFD panel..

When flashing has finished remove the usb memory stick and reboot using the switch at the back of the duo..

If the flash procedure fails to initialize use a differant USB memory stick, not all memory sticks initialize the flashing process..

Affirmative.. webif is open port :80
follow the steps Master G has given you and you will start everything fresh..
before you change anything ,make a copy of your lines, etc so you can easily transfer them to the new image.
If you are not sure ,then use a backup which has been made by a team member..
or simply ask here and we will try get you all the way through process .
