First Time using Sat receiver

Hi

i have a vu+ duo on it's way , i'm planning to stick a hdd on it later on ,but for now i want to know what to do ,please bear in mind that i have never done this before and so far i'm a bit confused with all the techy stuff .
i also have few questions :
do i have to flash the box and install an image ?
if yes from where can i download the latest STABLE software !
please post the relevant links .

Your duo may well come already flashed with a image on it, if not this guide will get you up and running, all the latest images are here bud, have a good look in the VU section and you will find exactly what you are looking for.

Thank you Mckee , i have read the tutorial you recommended , i find it quiet easy & simple . one more thing you said the duo might come with an image flashed on it . how will i know that !!! i have come cross this page : VU+ Duo . is that the right place to download an image ? which image will you recommend !

For your first image if there is none on it ( you can press menu- information-about) to see if there is.
then I suggest you try out one of the already prepared backups you can find here on site .
Once you begin ot understand how it works then you can start afresh ..
