Help needed with getting Mgcamd running on AR-P Enigma2 image

  • Hi,
    I am accesing someone elses cam server from my enigma2 golden media box and I am using oscam. but it stutters and the cam server guy says it because I should be using Mgcamd. I got the right Mgcamd files and edited newcamd.list with my details. I then select Mgcamd_138 in my softcam manager but nothing starts. I can go back to oscam and oscam starts, but due to the stutter is not much use.
    I am sure the files are in the right directory and look ok but can't figure out why it's not working.

    so any advice offered is appreciated.

  • I would say u dont bud you r sure u have edited it right m8, I use mgcam and works flawless any stuttering is usually down to where u get your share from bud

  • here are some of the details on my setup, in case this helps:
    Location of cam protocol

    Location of cam files (Both these locations are listed correctly in my softcam manager.)

  • You confused me m8.
    First you said you use oscam,next you say you use Mgcamd.In case you use only Mgcam and still have freeze then is totally server depended.
    Another idea on that is maybe you could give it a try with an older version of Mgcam let`s say 1.35.
    Regards

  • sorry, let me try to clear that up.

    I can use oscam protocol to connect to a 3rd partys cam but it stutters , the 3rd party said I should be using mgcamd instead as I am a client , not a server. However mgcamd does not start for me.

    OK now it`s clear.Maybe then try to change the cam as i mentioned before and even better the image of your box in case you have this option.
    Your mgcam configuration looks ok to me so i`m out of other ideas at the momment.

  • changed the cam to mgcamd_1.35 but still nothing. 1 question, is copying the mgcamd cam file into the directory enough, or do I need to install anything (like a package)?

  • I switched back to spark (instead of eigma2) to see if I could get it working, but I have no idea how to run mgcamd on spark. Ayone have a dummies guide to ruing mgcamd on spark?

  • will do, got it worknng on spark after a reboot. and now re-imaged enigma2 , but still no joy. must be the mgcamd cam I am using is wrong. do you have aink to the one you are using.

    I tried these 2 : MGcamd 1.38.c Stable-mips E2 by Leo & e2-mipsel-mgcamd_1.35_100122

  • "" your newcamd.list should look like the following,,,,,just change the last line with your server name,,,,user name,,,,,password

    CWS_KEEPALIVE = 300
    CWS_INCOMING_PORT = 21000
    CWS = 127.0.0.1 10000 local local 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14 lan newcs

    CWS = dyndns 32000 user password 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14

  • Yes already have the server and login details in the file, I just took them out in my post for security reasons. CWS = <server> 12112 <login> <password> 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14 lan
