Port forwarding

    Hi Guys


    Need some help. i have a cs server running on a db7000 with a vm120mb internet line. Everything works but every few days the clients cannot access server,,, i get syn flood on router any ideas what may be causing the issue?

    Im not sure why you have Port Forward in your Title.
    You can setup Iptables to block syn attacks

    If the problem is within the router itself you will have to isolate the source & contact VM or get a DD-WRT router

    thanks for quick response,,, it was working fine before never had any issues. Not sure if adding more clients has tipped it over the edge or if the router is knackered

    Syn flood can occur if you have way to many people connected -
    Or a HOP 2 could be getting abused ???

    Check the logs in your router - when i had VM connection i noticed lots of port scanning and syn floods came directly from Virgin themselves ?
    No idea why ?
    I'n my case i found removing certain peers i had given additional hops to helped !
