When you start it up or put it in flash mode by holding the power button then powering up what do you see on the LCD?

By the looks of it you have a sim 2.10 box with bootloader 84
If you follow he link given by inspiral you should be able to recover the box. Once recovered you can then flash a new SIM 2.10 image to the box.

i don't have the opprtunity to choose the firmware. When i put the box on the flash still inactive.

Have a look at this thread.
The last time i recovered a Dreambox it was an old 7020Si. I'm very careful when i install images so its been a long while since i have had to recover a box.

Hi Mate, Is there a small,round black push button on he rear of the box, If so, keep it pressed whilst you power up the box, look at the front display and it should say 'stop' and underneath that it will show an ip address 182.158.0.171 something like that, type that ip in your browser and re-flash with the correct clone image, in the dm800se section, hope that helps

thanksjunger is correct as certain dm800 receivers have this reset button on the back which would be a godsend..
If all else fails try this below as i can confirm this does sort bootloader/corrupted image issues...however you will need a comp with a serial port.
