thanks, but this i have done many times allready.
when i give in "crontab -e" then opens this new telnet window. okso i put in */3 * * * * /var/bin/oscamcheck.sh
and it shows in the window (telnet), fine and now is where the trouble starts.
if you see the post 21 on this thread. this is what comes up.I press enter - nothing
I press i - enter nothing
i press ZZ nothingcan u see where i stuck?
i google around to learn about telnet commands but can`t really see my problem.
can u sort me out please?

what i did, i go with DCC to the file, click right and in atttribute put it to 755 - ok.

Using DCC
start telnet & enterCodecrontab -e
Press the insert button on your keyboard & enter your text
Now press escape then shift & zz together
You can check it has saved correctly by ftp to location and viewing the file
ftp to /var/spool/cron/crontabs then right click & view the file named root.
let us know how you get on.

somehow i have done it.
the file is actually there, but still not working.
i asure cron is on.
could you see the screenshots about this cron business, maybe you see the trouble.
apart of this i have disabled the log in the oscam cfg, any significanc with oscamcheck?
i am not linux friendly really, sorryto test i stop oscam with killall comand, and it should restart oscam after 3 min.
its taking its time this restart f*****r, and i will not give up.

To find out if it's running do the following : ( if its running you will see the destination and name of check script )
Codeps aux | grep crondIf its not running just type:

hi, been reading through this thread and trying myself and have spent time over last 3 days trying this. I get to the point of insert, then paste */3 * * * * /var/bin/oscamcheck.sh when i press esc, the cursor moves between sh of(*/3 * * * * /var/bin/oscamcheck.sh) I then press shift+snooze button together but I dont get root file in crontabs. I hope I am right in presuming the zz in this thread is sleep/snozze. Is there an alternative key I can use to the zz key?? Any help appreciated.

please need help i try to setup this script in d500 + oscam + gemin 4.2 but no chance.what i must change in the script to work perfectly in gemini ?
i put oscamcheck.sh in /var/script
the root in /var/etc/cron/crontabs
oscam.log & oscam.check in /tmptelnet ;
root@dreambox:~> crontab -e
crontab: cannot change dir to /var/spool/cron/crontabs: No such file or directo
