  • Looking to upgrade my Alien 2 as ive moved house and lost Vermin!

Not going to buy another thing from the cowboys that sell the AA2 but that's another story!

Need a PVR with sat and freeview but cant decide between the Miriclebox Twin, Gigablue HD+ or the new LX3

I know the LX3 is fairly new receiver and very fast but not sure what he support will be like?

For the cost is the Miricle box worth the money coming from alien, i noticed theirs not much support for it and as its and older box might not get as much as the new LX3?

    Any advice

    Cheers

LX3 kicks the crap out of the other 2 you mention. Stick openatv on it and forget about it. I have 2 x cable, 1 x fixed and 1 x motorised sat tuners.
It hasn't missed a beat in the 3 months i have had it.

    Thanks for the info.

Is it worth the extra £150 extra over the Miracle box? not to bothered by the single sat tuner on the miracle box as it has DVB-t2

Not unless you need to use the full potential of an lx3. ...
transcoding. ...pip....hdmi in port etc etc...
if it was me and for the same money I would have an xpeed lx2 over the Miracle box but then im probably biased towards the xpeed range.

    Thanks for the info.

  • you forget the fact that box LX series and Miraclebox series are made from same factory :48_002:

if you do not need the extra powerful processor then i would go for the Miraclebox
it is reliable box and is well made as i produced for the Scandinavian marked.

Belive me i have the LX3/Sezam Marvel box and i have the Miraclebox Premium Twin HD
and i will go for the Miraclebox anyway, but as mention if you do not need the extra power then you are fine

Miraclebo Premium Mini HD is same box as LX1/LX2 nothing different, but i just think that the Swedish Miraclebox company have had a bitt more to say on the build quality, this is only my opinion.

Miraclebox Premium HD Twin is acctualy a very good buy.

At the end of the day what ever you choose you will not be disappointed, compare to what you have had you will be very very satisfied

  • Thanksbfor the reply.
I assume the miracle box doesn't do transcoding? That's the only thing I might want from thevbox!
What image you running on it?

    Cheers

  • I have got the Premium Twin and I'm running the OpenViX image on it, works perfectly :-)
No Transcoding does not work, but that is all you will miss from it.

If you go for the LX3 then look at the Atemio Nemesis to, it is 3 tuner box with plug&play tuners so you can change to what ever you like, LX3 is as good as the Sezam Marvel. I have got the Sezam Marvel and I'm not very very satisfied but compare to the price it is a very good machine would says is better then Vu+ Duo2 for the price between them

  • the Mini HD is Single core 500 Mhz, but with the lates bootloader it becomes 751 Mhz so yes it is true.
I have not updated mine as there is no bootloader for the Premium HD, the bootloader is only for the Premium Mini HD

I for my self have no problem whatsoever with my box :-) cannot tell about others but mine have been running now for all most 1 year without problems :-)

LX3 is a bit better box, i would say. I have the Sezam Marvel that is the same as the LX3 model, and im very satisfied with it.
I did had an Vu+ Duo2 before but realy not worth the extra money you sped for the Duo2, if you have the budget går for one of this
LX3, Marvel or Nemesis and im sure you will not be disappointed

  • The LX3 is a bit of a specialist machine and is overkill for the average Sat user. Same as Jensen my choice for a mid range box is the LX2 especially since the latest bootloader came out. With Openatv 4.2 and you have a great box for under £200

  • So its between the lx2 and the miracle premium twin HD??
So does the miricle twin CPU dual core 400 have any benefits over the lx2 single core 700??

Couple of other things that might sway me.

1)Which box has the best support and images?
    2) does the lx2 have an internal HDD bay?
    3) if I choose 1x sat and 1x dvb-t2 tuner can I watch one, record one between tuners?

    Thanks
    Donkey

Well I can only comment on the lx2.
No internal hdd. Official image support from openatv hdmu hdf egami and ptk. I have also got blackhole vix pli itallysat image's patched for it. ...
Recoding is possible as you state.
Don't know price for the miracle box but the lx2 as you require is 150 delivered.
