  • no my friend got it from another site pal..wish I never listened to him now..proper gutted about my box skint me to buy it

Don't panic yet. just take it one step at a time.

power the receiver down fully for at least ten minutes.

Download the bootloader from the link I provided and prepare the USB stick (make sure you format the stick first using the HP format tool from this link).

    http://www.pcworld.com/product…-storage-format-tool.html

Now flash the bootloader, it only takes seconds so dont worry if it's fast.

Then power the receiver down, remove the stick, format it again and prepare the image from the link above and flash that.

  • Flashing the image alone should be fine, but then again you can never guarantee what people put in some of these so called backups, a incorrectly flashed bootloader however can and will destroy the boot sector on the receiver, and it's not easily fixable.

Have you tried flashing the bootloader since ?. you can get it from here. http://www.openvix.co.uk/index…%2B_Bootloaders/Vu%2BDuo/

Then power down and reflash the image again from here http://www.openvix.co.uk/index.php?dir=Vu%2BDuo/

yes I've tried both of the above still the same theres no response from the box doesn't even read from usb and I've tried vuutil to flash with null modem mounts the image gets to 20% and nothing happens

  • will try that pal got to go out now will let you know later thanks again for your help

  • hmmm..i always assumed vu boxes had 2 years warranty, the one i fixed was from our sponser here sadley it was just over 2 years old , so out of warranty...sometimes youd think that these warrantys seem to expire just at the right time...like there was an inbuilt self destruct progra or something built inside the recievers..lol :59:, anyway less then a year old shud have warranty , have you tried vu themselves ?...also can you try to flash it back to stock image ?...theres a stock image posted somewhere on here by master g i think it was...
