Display settings greater than 16:9

The display settings are greater than 16:9,there for I am missing parts of the sides of the menu when I bring them up.I have gone into av settings but can't seem to change to 16:9

To preserve the 'true' picture aspect ratio you, in my opinion, should have the settings as follows:-

display 4:3 content as Pillerbox
display >16:9 content as letterbox

Wether or not this will give you the full menu or not I don't know.

Here is how I solved my problem
menu>setup>vix>skin settings then adjust menu overscan amount - once adjusted press green to save
