FTP problems on Black Hole 2.1.4

    Hi guys, just wondering if anyone has had a problem connecting to FTP to Vu+ Solo SE?


    All was fine yesterday but now when I try to connect is it shows:


    Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message...
    Response: 220 Welcome to the vuplus FTP service!
    Command: USER root
    Response: 331 Please specify the password.
    Command: PASS ******
    Response: 530 Login incorrect.
    Error: Critical error: Could not connect to server


    I have tried rebooting the box several times with no joy. It's like the password has changed!


    Is there any way of viewing or changing FTP password from within Black Hole?

    Try a router reboot as well buddy...... did you have a password set for the image BH 2.1.4?


    Have you tried vuplus as the password?

    Can you try a different FTP program from what your using now? just to see if that makes any difference......


    Can you connect by telnet? if so type passwd then follow the on-screen instructions.....

    I have tried Filezilla, Cuteftp, and putty to connect all say incorrect password. I don't know why it would have changed...

    make sure your box has got that IP assigned or are you using DHCP ?
    in that case you need ot search for the IP.. DCC is a good way to find it.
    I only mention it as you could be trying to connect to some other device..

    This is what my router shows. My FTP client seems to be connecting to the STB because it shows "Welcome to the vuplus FTP service" but rejects the password ????


    The password was vuplus as per installed image.

    Your box is not accessible via the internet at all is it? I'm just wondering if someone has maliciously changed your box's password?



    I'm sure this isn't what has happened but it might be worth double checking that their are no ports forwarded on your router to the Vu Solo box, just to be absolutely certain

    Ok, so I backed up my personal settings and installed Black Hole 2.1.4 VuSoloSe Xbmc beta2 by Robijay, restored my settings and am now able to FTP to the box :78:
