cannot pass the router to talk to a vu+ box

Trying to help a peer with his vu+ box., when I open teamviewer, and transfer dcc, then try to connect to the box via the router the 'remote computer' to the vu+ link goes green, however the vu+ link to the router stays red and the telnet, ftp stays red (disabled), he has a' utility warehouse' broadband supplier of the router and it looks as the router is blocking the access. maybe port forwarding, but would be guessing, looked for a tut, but cannot find one, anyone know whats going on. appreciate any suggestions

Choose "direct crossover" in connection type, then try to reconnect..

Thanks Master G, I have read up and think I need a crossover cable to connect directly. I will have a look at other router problem areas because It is only that router out of four that is causing the problem. I think it might be a security setting in the router,

Have you checked to make sure dhcp is turned on in network settings on the vu+ ?

junger, I would think first find IP of box make sure its same in DCC, Also make sure password is right, linuxsat, or dreambox.
