    What you need to flash

You need the image file you want to flash. Image files have the extension *.nfi. You can't flash other images like *.img files. Don't try it - it won't work.
You need either a DHCP server (usually a router) , a configured bootloader or a serial cable and a terminal program like HyperTerm.
You need a browser, and a network cable. If you connect the Dreambox directly to the PC, you need a cross cable, if you connect trough a switch/hub/router you need a normal (non-cross) cable.

To flash a new image, you can use the second stage loader. It must be present and not broken.

The following steps assume you have a DHCP server. If you don't have one, you have to setup
an IP address in the bootloader's serial setup.

    So, how to do it....

Power down the Dreambox, either using "shutdown" and by removing the power connector.Standby is not enough!
Press and hold the power button. Reconnect the power connector into the Dreambox.
The text "*** STOP ***" should appear on the OLED display.
Now you can release the button.
The bootloader has entered the "waiting" mode.
Above the "*** STOP ***" text, there should appear an IP-address (four decimal values with a dot in between). If the text "dhcp" appears instead, the box is still searching for a DHCP server. Wait a bit. If it doesn't change, something is wrong with the connection to the DHCP server.
Check wether network cable is plugged in etc. If it just doesn't work, set an IP using the serial terminal)
Now, open a browser on your PC.
Enter in the address line "http://ip/" (where ip must be replaced with the value in the LCD).
On the bottom of the page, there's a link called "firmware upgrade". Click it.
On the next page, you can select the flash image you want to flash. be sure that it has the ".nfi" extension. You can't flash other images (like .img)!
Click on "FLASH!" and wait. It might take some time to upload and flash the image.
Switch the box off again, and on again. The new image should be flashed and working.

If you are running a debian or ubuntu server and would like to update to cccam 2.2.0 here is a quick how to.

-First of all download CCcam 2.2.0 HERE

-ftp to emu/cccam on your server

-open the cccam package you downloaded and FTP CCCam.x86 to emu/cccam (overwriting the old file. or delete it first)

-next go to terminal or if you have no monitor use putty (http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgta ... nload.html) and enter

    Code
    nano /etc/apt/sources.list

    -then add next line

    Code
    deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian testing main contrib

    - save the file and then

    Code
    apt-get update

    -When you did this then

    Code
    apt-get install g++-4.4-multilib

-then wait till everything has been installed!

    -lastly give cccam.x86 execution rights

    Code
    chmod 755 /emu/cccam/CCcam.x86

Reboot the server and you are now running CCcam 2.2.0

You will need to use the most recent version of dreamboxedit. I use dreamset myself with no problems at all. You can also download the channel list from the vix server/ plugins panel.

Display world satellite feeds for sport events
Display one off satellite feeds for sport events
Zap to a channel for a satellite fixtutre (if transponder is valid)
Zap to a channel for a one off satellite feed (if channel reads and decodes on dreambox, this does not work for 4:2:2 feeds).
Manually scan in channels if it is not already scanned in when wanting to zap
Position your motorised dish if manual scan shows 0 results
Football scores, results, fixtures and news
    FIFA RSS feed now included
    Vide Printer
    UK Music charts
    UK HMV charts
    UK Cinema listings

I do not have my dm500 setup so could somebody test this and let us know.

    1. Download CCcam 2.2.0
    2. Ftp into your box and delete the existing cccam file in /usr/bin/
    3. Ftp the CCcam.ppc in its place. Rename it to CCcam (remove the .ppc)
    4. Chmod the new file to 755
    5. restart cccam.

The new cam is already on gemeni blue panel so other images will be adding it asap.

Heres what it says in the cfg file.

    #SMARTCARD SID REJECT: <device> { <sid1>, <sid2>, ... <sidn> }
    #
    # <device> is the reader devicenode
    # { <sid1>..<sidn> } lists the sids that are to be rejected on the smartcard
    #
    # WARNING: when SMARTCARD SID REJECT config changes, restart is required before settings take effect
    #
#example1: smartcard in device /dev/ttyUSB0 should not handle requests for sids df3, df4, df5
    #
    #SMARTCARD SID ASSIGN: /dev/ttyUSB0 { 0df3,0df4,0df5 }

Will post more on it once i have the chance to try it myself.

Maybe its time we added an oscam section lol,
but seriously 2.14 came out in febuary and theres no word of anything else comming soon.I do think its time to look at the options available.

Typical, just after i say this...................CCcam 2.20 has been released.hmmm

    -several smartcard fixes
-added SCIDEVICES setting (see CCcam.cfg for details)
    -fixed timings display
    -fixed possible crash with SMP
-don't clear SMARTCARD SID ASSIGN and LOADBALANCE settings when configfile changes (changing these settings requires a restart, so they should not be touched when config is re-read)
-added SMARTCARD SID REJECT (see CCcam.cfg for details)
-distribute ASSIGN/REJECT info to clients to improve performance (needs 2.2.0 server and clients)
-improved detecting when CCcam.cfg has changed
-added GLOBAL EMM setting (clientside), to control generation of GA EMM traffic (see CCcam.cfg for details)

HD+ Card and Tivusat Card Work OK with cccam 2.2.0
