Guys just to let you know.

OpenViX Apollo build 032 will require a reflash.

we are reverting back to individual box feeds and a online update will not update the opkg config files needed for the new feeds. I am not sure about using a settings backup yet but will update as and when I have further information.

The UK’s Police Intellectual Property Crime Unit (PIPCU) has arrested a man in the north-western city of Manchester on suspicion of running a series of illegal sports streaming websites

The 27-year-old is believed to be operating streaming sites that allow unlawful access to subscription only TV services which is costing industry more than £10 milllion.

The man was arrested at his home in the North West by the City of London Police’s specialist IP unit where detectives found evidence of what is described as an “industrial size” streaming operation, including 12 computer servers streaming a wide range of sporting events from across the world, which have since been seized and taken away.

The operation was supported by Greater Manchester Police with the suspect being taken to a local police station for questioning.

DCI Danny Medlycott, the newly appointed Head of PIPCU, said that the September 1 operation was the unit’s third arrest in relation to online streaming and sendt out a strong message that we PIPCU was homing in on those who knowingly commit or facilitate online copyright infringement.

“Not only is there a significant loss to industry with this particular operation but it is also unfair that millions of people work hard to be able to afford to pay for their subscription-only TV services when others cheat the system,” he said.

PIPCU is based within the Economic Crime Directorate of the City of London Police, the National Lead Force for Fraud. It is a specialist police unit dedicated to protecting the UK industries that produce legitimate, high quality, physical goods and online and digital content from intellectual property crime.

The operationally independent unit launched in September 2013 and is initially being funded by the Intellectual Property Office (IPO), which is part of the Department for Business, In****tion and Skills.

It's nothing to do with "opensource" or not, most teams consider multiboot systems a waste of time and resources when you can backup and reflash a new image in less than 5 minutes and offer no support for such plugins, as for Meoboot thats a blackhole invention which is why you have to have the BH image in the flash in order to use it.

The feeds any all images in the ViX 3.0 series have been deleted, there is no way you can update your current image online or by any other method. even if you do reflash with the last image in the ViX 3.0 series (build 808 which is over 9 months old) you would still have the problem of no image feeds any more.

IMPORTANT! Build 025 requires a fresh re-flash and setup!

To let all ViX users know, build 025 will require a complete fresh flash and setup with NO RESTORE. This is due to changes in the OE-Alliance core, its been upgraded from OE-A 2.2 to 2.3. Also there's been many kernel and driver upgrades for a number of supported receivers.

Ideally you should also list the image version you are using as well as uploading a copy of one of the generated crash logs, otherwise people are just guessing as to the cause of your problem and that helps no one.

Not unless you take out a VPN subscription that supports Australia or move there.

As for 4oD as said above, this was again knocked out by countermeasures from the service provider, if you were using a more upto date version of OnDemand you would not even have the option to select 4oD as we removed it.

you need to install the libcurl4 dependencies in order to run CrossEPG 0.8.1 on the Pli image as they do not by default include this, they updated to this version of CrossEPG from the OE-Alliance without bothering to also include the dependencies.

EPG data is held in live memory so deleting the epg.dat file while enigma is running wont actually delete it, as you discovered it will be regenerated once you reboot. you must first kill enigma with a telnet session and the init 4 command before deleting the epg.dat file for it to be fully deleted.

Yes the miraclebox is a mips based enigma2 receiver, so enigma2 runs as it is supposed to, at present enigma2 runs poorly on sh4 boxes and even the images ATV are currently releasing for SH4 boxes are full of holes and poor hacks (in my opinion).

    Feeling worried.

Shall I cancel my order lads!

    No guides whatsoever!

I dont know what you expect but this is a standard enigma2 based receiver, therefore it's pretty much identical to all other enigma2 based receivers for setup and plugin installation, etc etc etc.

plus there is a full set of flashing tutorials on

    Code
    www.openvix.co.uk

including several for the miracleboxes and a full, very detailed ViX manual.
