Ok guys a update in this, the Ocram server was briefly reactivated to allow those ViX users who were less technically minded to update with as few problems as possible, now that build 043 is online ocram will again take his server off line but this time it's forever, he graciously allowed ViX(and only ViX) to have full and direct feeds for his server these last few years but due to funding issues has decided to call it a day.

His picon base files are now public and we will be building some or all of them for our feeds and users as and when needed.

The Ocram picon server is currently down which has tripped the image into falsely reporting that the ViX feeds are down, they are not.
for now please FTP to /etc/opkg/ and delete or rename the ocram-feed.conf file, until he restores his server and corrects the error.

If you are using the official ipk file for VIX it won't work as its for a MIPS based box not a SH4 box like the Alien.

As far as i know VIX do not officially support your box.

    Nano

Thats correct. he's referring to the lavatronics image that they dont officially support even though there building it ???. yup makes as much sense to me too. they basically stole our name so to con users into thinking its a official ViX image so they can sell more receivers.

The simple fact of the matter here comes down to support, and if the Jet gets the same level of support the prismcube had it will fail, users are not dumb and even the hardcore BH fans know that support for this platform is severely lacking.

For the most part in the EU it is known as the AB-IP Prismcube. The Jet will have more horsepower. AB-IP have their own images and BH continue to support it. Other teams such as Pli (or Pli spin off images) have not really been involved.

Sorry but your first generation argument does not hold water, the XBMC community is as large if not more and as mature if not more than Enigma2, just look at the many many XBMC support forums for proof of that. The prismcube has been a unmitigated disaster in terms of support received weather you want to admit it or not. As for the BH image that you continually rave about, that is nothing more that a OI with a new skin.

without support from other teams the JET will be just as much a disaster if not more as users are scared away from spending their hard earned cash on a receiver where it's predecessor failed so spectacularly to gain any real support and thats what matters here.

The reason the Prismcube failed (My opinion), is that they failed to gain support from any one but BH, who basically took the bog standard UI and put a skin over the top of it. Users were not fooled by this severe lack of support and if they fail to gain further support for the next generation the same will happen all over again.

Marusys / Vu+ are fast going the way Dream Multimedia did, by ignoring the teams and image devs who helped build up their empire and keeping prices insanely high in a market where ever cheaper receivers are appearing almost daily.

Just look at the Vu+ Solo SE, they had a opportunity to kill the clone market in one fell swoop with this receiver, but again chose to price their receiver so high to exclude a large portion or the market. Exactly the same thing Dream Multimedia did with their Dreambox line which for all intensive purpose is now dead out side of Germany.

IMPORTANT! Please read regards Openvix download centre and feeds
To all members, due to our ever growing list of supported receivers, plugins/update feeds etc... we've had to invest in another Dedicated server with larger hard drive capacity. Due to this Openvix.co.uk will go offline for a short period of time, ViX Image manager will be unable to download images until the next image build.

Feed and Image migration will be done in stages. Our next build 038 will be updated so that Image Manager connects to new server, feeds will remain on current server. Subsequent builds will be updated to make use of feeds on the new server. More info will be posted in due course.

Apologies in advance for any downtime experienced.

In my sunray mini pro I can not flash via USB, is locked
Is there another way to do this?

sorry buddy but I dont provide help or support for Illegal, counterfeit, cloned receivers. maybe some one else will but I wont.

You could have simply placed the image onto receivers HDD and used the inbuilt image manager in ViX to couch flash the image, even a compressed image in .zip format will work in the ViX image manager.

The prismcube was never going to be hit with the awfully low support it had from image teams, not even the mighty BH can go it alone in a market such as this. Also Vu+ have a pretty horrible track record when it comes to supporting image teams so don't expect that to change with the newer boxes.

4oD was removed for the second time about a year ago from the OnDemand player due to changes the service provider made to its service, so you are using a very old version if it's in there still plus it wont be coming back any time soon if ever. the 3player and abc player are geoblocked to their intended markets (Australia and Ireland), they wont work without you paying for a decent VPN and finding one that covers Australia is not a easy thing to do.

I was told to avoid vix for the dm800hd as its very buggy. Do you agree?

It's not thats it's buggy it's that the DM800 ViX image does not exist and has not for nearly two years as thats when we binned ViX development for all DMM hardware and deleted all the images we built for them. The image you are using now was not even built for the DM but is a Vu+ Solo image that has been butchered to "run" on a DM and I use the term run loosely.

The last time I saw that error was when we updated some network features in ViX 3.0 and users were advised not to use the online update feature but to reflash instead. No idea why you are seeing it now though, I'm currently on build 033 with no issues.

What do you expect from people more interested in selling hardware with any old lie or excuse than actually offering real, honest support for their customers ?.
