Just read this one, it's pretty much the same article.

this is because your trying to flash a clone box
Indeed thats what he said in his post on DK, strange how he "forgot" to mention it here though.

Satellite operator SES said that their upcoming launch of its giant Astra 2G satellite had slipped somewhat. It had been expected to launch in June. The eyes of the industry have been on the plan because the satellite had been rumoured to be the subject of USA sanctions against Russia following on from the Ukrainian political upheaval.
SES’ CEO Karim Michael Sabbagh stated that the satellite – built by Airbus’ Astrium subsidiary, but with many US-manufactured components – was not affected by the US sanctions. Mr Sabbagh added that launch contractor International Launch Services held all the required paperwork to proceed with a launch.
However, the launch date will slip, from June to a date between July and September. The cause was not international relations but down to a queue of Russian and commercial launches.

you can only use one half of the tuner at any one time and it must be setup in the tuner config page.
so if you have it setup as DVB-T in the tuner config page, you can only use the terrestrial side, same applies to the cable side of it too.

I would like to thank all those who cast their vote, the winner was Apollo by 51 percent followed by Prometheus. so Apollo it is.

I would go with ViX Sisyphus.....
In Greek mythology Sisyphus (/ˈsɪsɪfəs/;[1] Greek: Σίσυφος, Sísyphos) was a king of Ephyra (now known as Corinth) punished for chronic deceitfulness by being compelled to roll an immense boulder up a hill, only to watch it roll back down, and to repeat this action forever.
In the modern day world he would be punished with having to update his Vix image day after day after day after day....... :snicker:
p.s only joking......
well the ViX image has since day one been in constant development and will be until the day we decide to end it. Technically every image Since Zeus was launched is the same image line, but from previous experience asking users to reflash rather than use the online update, always got ignored, only to be followed by dozens of posts when things go wrong. so we removed the option from their hands all together.
a reflash followed by a settings backup restore, is not too much to ask, and every OE-Alliance team is in the same position but they dont get the flack that we do.
personally i'm not worried in the slightest about what happens once the lights go out for CS in the UK, I dont even watch more than a hour of TV a week even though i have over 15 receivers.

I did that then ftp back to box and installed with no errors. Then installed ondemand 4od fix open pli from linuxsupportaddons plugin and rebooted but still no sign of ondemand. I assume that ondemand should appear in the green panel.
No idea, I dont use BH, I use ViX

Ok guys here goes.
Within the next few days we will be releasing another new image revision. yes I can already hear the Groans and complaints asking why another new flaming image so soon ?????.
Well, we are having a major server clear out, combined with substantial changes to the Image feeds and another OE core merge. This means you will not be able to use the online update option but you should still be able to use a settings backup from a earlier Zeus or Helios build.
We appreciate that this will be the third image revision in as many months and fully understand the inconvenience this may cause to some users but it's a necessary update and rather than asking users not to use the online update, then complain to us after the fact, we decided to again remove the option to save you and us the grief.
so with that and keeping with the Greek Gods theme, we have a short list of 6 potential names, so get involved and let us know what you want the image to be named.

The .ipk should end in duo2.ipk not duo2(1).ipk remove the (1) part.

read vix are working on cable abm which would be very handy
yes peterj and andy are working on that now, although andy does not have access to cable, it's about 95 percent complete so hopefully wont be too long before it joins ABM along with the newly added DVB-T scanning feature.

Did you ever get any feedback on this question sir? I found the VU+Solo2 to be slow also...even a clone DM800se scans it faster when i test a little :(
Regards..
The blindscan of the solo2 may be slow but it's the most sensitive and most thorough of any E2 based receiver by a country mile.

Both Reuters and Bloomberg are carrying stories that Rupert Murdoch’s long-held plans to create a pan-European pay-TV unit are coming to fruition. The suggestions, unconfirmed, say that Murdoch wants to transform B***B into the holding vehicle for Murdoch’s other European pay-TV assets, *** Deutschland (55 per cent owned by 21st Century Fox) and *** Italia (wholly-owned by Fox).
The scheme is said to give “oversight” of the trio to B***B and to separate the programme side of the three businesses from the distribution arms. Bloomberg quotes Laura Martin, a media analyst at Needham & Co, saying: “I love this idea – it puts the distribution assets out of the content company’s hands. This is strategic alignment. It makes for a pure-play content company for Fox, but it’s also good for B***B to have a bigger global footprint.”
Both Reuters and Bloomberg say the three companies have been in talks for “months” and that a deal could be announced this summer.
A ‘***/News Corp Europe’ has been under consideration for years, and last week James Murdoch stated: “We’ve made no secret of our belief over the years that we think the ***s are strong together,” he said, speaking on a conference call. “Currently our focus is on operating each of those businesses as best we can.”
Back in 1998, Rupert Murdoch appointed Letizia Moratti (former chairman of RAI) as the chairman of News Corp Europe, which was to be based in Milan, but the plan fell apart after about a year.

The file structure is gigablue> quadplus> (image files).
Not sure of the exact flashing procedure as i have the Quad not the plus model, but they should be very similar is not the same.
p.s you can get the newest version of my flashing tutorial from www.openvix.co.uk ( i'll upload one for the Quad plus when some one confirms the correct flashing procedure or me ).
As far as i'm aware there is no bootloader update for the Quad plus yet, but even if there were it would only need flashing if a newer one was released, not every time you flash a image ( unless stated otherwise ).
-
you need to provide a little more proof than that before outing some one as a rogue trader, as for sending a board back ?, if your referring to the recent hit clones you got exactly what you deserve if you ask me.
-
Just make sure that you switch the box off at the back before removing the usb stick your flashing the image from....
Agreed, last thing he wants is to accidentally pull the stick out mid way through the flashing process, thats a sure fire way to a corrupt bootloader.
-
-
ok so he has put a image on it that is approximately 6 months old, not saying that it's a clone just because of that but it's mighty suspicious as those were some of the last images before Vu+ introduced the new anti clone drivers. There is one sure fire way to know for 100 percent if it's a clone, but i wont ask you to do that as it will basically destroy the receiver in the process if it's detected to be a clone, if it's genuine it wont harm it in any way.
-
No i asked for the exact image version, for example ViX 3.0 build 602, or Zeus build 023 or Helios build 002. Basically i want to know how old the image is he has shipped with the receiver as currently newer images can not be loaded as the drivers provided by the manufacturer disable clones.
-
well in that case you have a 90 percent chance that it's a clone, which exact ViX image did it come shipped with ?. you can tell from pressing menu then going to about> info.
