So just to be clear. Blackhole doesn't have Deep Standby is that correct?

So how would I go about using the Vix power timers to wake from Deep Standby and download the EPG?

ViX is simply my Image of choice as for Power timers BH does have deepstandby but it does not have the ViX power timers function as that was coded specifically for ViX and the OE-Alliance by Andyblac.

Regular standby just kills the video and audio output, the unit is essentially still running at full pelt.

Deep standby however is almost a full shutdown, only the IR sensor some other deep core functions are still running, and yes it will wake from deep standby for a recording but not for say a EPG download, you could use the ViX power timers for that and set a timer for the receiver to wake and go back into deep standby once the task you wish to run has completed.

Skins are not just plucked from the ether, they need people to create them and thats a hell of a lot of hard work not only to create them in the first place but to constantly maintain them through image changes etc, most teams rely on a hand full in house skinners and volunteers to produce and maintain their skins.

no probs im stll not used to vix I never had that screen as u say on my other box with pli not vix..I should have looked up the proper name for it before posting the pic it won't happen again ..

Dont worry about it, i was not trying to be a dick, i fully appreciate your work, most of what i post however tends to get picked apart by a select few, who then blow it all out of proportion, i'm used to it now.

A Sydney man has been charged as part of a joint investigation by the Australian Federal Police (AFP) and Foxtel into the widespread theft of the pay-TV operator’s services.

The 29-year-old man was arrested after it was discovered he had been operating an illegal card-sharing network from a business premises in the Sydney suburb of Cartwright.

It is alleged this network had been providing around 8,000 customers Australia-wide with unauthorised access to subscription television content without a legitimately-purchased subscription.

Following a period of ongoing liaison with Foxtel, the AFP conducted search warrants at a private residence and a business premises on November 1st 2013, where the man was arrested and a number of decoders and smartcards were seized.

He has been charged with five copyright offences and is scheduled to appear at Liverpool Local Court Tuesday December 17th.

AFP Sydney Office Manager Ray Johnson said the arrest and charges serve as a strong reminder that intellectual property crime is not a victimless crime. “This investigation has successfully disrupted a network which has been unlawfully providing access to services at the cost of honest customers who legitimately pay for them,” stated Commander Johnson.

“Criminal activity such as this costs consumers – who may have to pay higher fees to absorb losses and the cost of theft-prevention measures – as well as retailers and individual businesses every year in Australia and across the globe.”

The maximum penalty for such an offence is five years imprisonment.

You cant load codecs onto these images to enable playback of different formats, this has to be enabled and supported in the drivers / kernel and only the manufacturer can do that. The default media player is a product of Enigma2 not he individual image, all third party media players do is bring a new shiny GUI they dont add functionality for none supported formats.

MP4 format should already be supported but may need to be re-encoded for the image to play it properly.

UK viewers are paying significantly more for premium pay-TV packages than consumers in Europe and the US, according to Ofcom.

The regulator found that British consumers pay £66 (€77) a month for the “best offer” premium pay-TV subscription – defined as including the “best package of top league football” as well as films and HD TV – more than twice that paid by consumers in the cheapest nation surveyed, Germany (£27).

The UK fared the worst in a six-nation comparison, with Spain ranked second (£49), followed by the US (£47) then Italy (£40) and France (£35), according to Ofcom.

Ofcom notes that Brits do get a good deal on basic pay-TV packages, at £16 a month second only to Italians.

Ofcom also found that UK consumers get much cheaper deals than their Continental and US counterparts when it comes to mobile and broadband services. The highly competitive UK mobile market, with a large number of virtual operators such as Tesco, has meant huge savings for British consumers.

The UK also ranked cheapest for broadband, third for landline rental and in an overall comparison of all communications services topped the survey.
