The following Tutorial aims to show you how to create a Full image backup using ViX 3.0 ( ALL Supported receivers ) in a easy to follow and understand tutorial, to read this tutorial you must have a .pdf reader installed. I recommend the following Free .PDF reader as it is what i use my self.

    Code
    http://www.foxitsoftware.com/Secure_PDF_Reader/

that can't be correct because I've downloaded a "backup open pli 2.1 for clone 2.1 sim" which has icefilms working fine".... yet I'm struggling to install it on a DM800SE A8P with openpli 2.1.

The image your using needs the OE 1.6 or python 2.6 version of the ipk, the newest images tend to be OE 2.0 or OE 3.0 which need the python 2.7 version.

If I were you I'd upgrade your image as OE 1.6 is slowly going to be phased out the same way that enigma1 images have been.

No need to take permission because TSmedia-1channel code not taken or based on 1channel plugin code even i opened 1channel plugin after finished coding of TSmedia, also TSmedia includes more features than channel one plugin(search, classification accordings to many standards
also 1channel is available bfore TSmedia in mediaportal
1channel.ch site is for public and the script for 1channel parsing is available originally for xmbc and published since long time

The same is true for just about all the plugins in the OnDemand plugin but when this guy clings onto you it's easier to just give in because the more you try to give him the facts the more he just ignores them and spreads more false claims.

Yep it's this one or the one I quoted, can't confirm which as I'm at work and not near a receiver to test.

I know its too late now for this, but it is good practise to create a script to auto backup all configs to folder on your box & then move them to your PC.. I do this nightly at 23.59.

That's not needed mate, there is already a auto backup option in the image specifically for this, just enable this option and select your preferred save location and your good to go, all my 7 receivers are set to automatically create a settings backup between 03:00 and 03:20 directly to my NAS.

On this topic, is there any setting that allows auto selection of "ENG" Audio on all channels or set "ENG" as the default Audio? I noticed sometimes when I update bouquets that a lot of the Audio default back to "NAR" or something other than "ENG"

    Thanks

Yes in the options you can select your default preferred language etc, but I can't think of the exact path to it at present.

Hi, having lots of problems with my image on vu+ duo, I would really appreciate it if someone could please upload a vix 3.0 backup with 1channel and on demand etc, I think I can instal plugins myself but always end up with more problems than I started with. Last one I installed was musogeek back up of 572 I think. Thanks :)

To be honest it is a very easy process to set up a new image if you take it one step at a time, there is even a tutorial on this very forum by my self detailing the whole process in easy to follow steps. You would be far better served if you setup your own image and no doubt users here will help you if you need it.

Thanks cazuela, it was the reloading of the channel list that sorted it. I gotta thank this forum again for its ongoing help in getting my Solo2 sorted!

A bit late to the party I know, but your problem was the satellites.xml file on the receiver had the wrong location for 4.8 east, similar to 28.2 east some users refer to it a 5 east or 4.8 east, once you have a accurate satellites.xml file your problems will have be solved as was the case when you loaded the new bouquets.

Havent come across that one before - where can you get them from? and how much are they - also - are there images for them....?

These are closed source receivers so your reliant on the manufacturers releasing updated firmware, I'm not sure if there are any patched versions available but you won't fine enigma style images for them.

PS. As far as picture quality is concerned i think the open pli is best..

Picture quality is controlled by the drivers, no image can effect this other than some minor scaler tweaks, if all images are using the same drivers on the same hardware, the PQ difference is all in the users head.

There's nothing slanderous about my post, I was merely providing as much info as I could regarding the issue I have, I have 3 enigma 2 boxes all with the vix team image as in my opinion there is no better image. Sorry if I have offended you.

I would worry to much about him as he is always
very defensive about the vix team, personally i think the older versions were better...

Think you are over reacting here. The reason he made the post is because he was having difficulties with a plugin after updating an image. Quite a normal reaction to put 2 and 2 together and sometimes come up with 5. Isn't the point of a forum to ask for help and advice? I think that is all that was being done, and because it has created a discussion, we all know what the real issue is, and that it was coincidental that the firmware was updated at the same time. No real need to fly off the handle:waaaht:

The facts were already out before you put in your 2 pence worth.

I fully stand by my above statement it was because of similar alarmist posts that the whole ViX is doing something to stop us using softcams on our clones rumor erupted and many others, with no basis in fact what so ever.

it must be the latest vix image. Please help, thanks.

It has nothing what so ever to do with the ViX image and silly posts like yours are how unfounded, slanderous rumors get started, 1 channel is down because their site was recently hijacked forcing them to move the URL, the plugin still points to the old URL hence why it cant connect to any thing.

    OpenViX 3.0-ANNOUNCEMENT

Due to the recent kernel changes for Vu+ Solo2 and the Xtrend receivers, we Highly recommend that you perform a full fresh flash rather than a online update, to eliminate any possible problems that could arise as a result of the kernel and drivers update. please note this only affects the below mentioned receivers and build numbers.

ALL xtrend receivers ( any build below OpenViX 3.0-660 )
    Vu+ Solo2 ( any build below OpenViX 3.0-661 )

Dont worry a online update will still work but it is highly advisable if you are on a build lower than those stated above that you reflash the receiver rather than use the online update method.
please be aware if you do reflash your receiver, you will also have to re-install your plugins even if you use a settings backup. Due to changes in the kernel your plugins will not be restored even if you select yes when asked if you want to restore them.

also worth noting, a old ViX feature will be returning to the image from Build 664 whereby you can flash the receiver directly from within the image manager without the need for a USB stick ( Thanks andy ).
