    Please be aware.

We are aware of a issue affecting some receivers ability to online update (mainly the newer generation Technomate receivers and the Lx3) which is being looked into, for now you can either update via the "couch flashing method" or via a USB flash, you should also be ok to use a settings backup without any problems.

Also for the record, in the logs you may see references to the zgemma receivers, these have been added by other member teams within the OE-A, OpenViX will not be providing any support for these illegal clones regardless of what others try to claim to the contrary.

ABM has no relation what so ever to the EPG so your EPG issues lie else where, as for the missing regional variations in ABM they were removed and reemerged back into a single UK file, they were only split up for the sake of the different HD variations and with those no longer being a factor we decided to do away with them.

    I stand corrected.
I'd still go for a vu over gb though.

I did not post to correct you mate, just to educate users into the perception that more images equals more support.

    Just a heads up.

ALL new images (except BH and VTI as they are based on Vu+'s ancient OI) are currently having issues with the Vu+ receivers with regard to IPTV (IE it does not work at all), this is due to Vu+ using a ancient version of gstreamer from DMM, every team (including the newest builds of Pli and ALL OE-A teams using the newest v2.4 OE) who are using the latest versions of gstreamer are suffering as a result, where as pretty much every other manufacturer does not have this problem.

Just another example of how poor support can be from some manufacturers, and hopefully this gives Vu+ another kick in the arse to get their crap sorted.

Duo2 can be configured with 2 dvb-t/c as well as 2 dvb-s2 tuners. (as far as i'm aware)
Support for vu heavily outways support for gigablue, for this reason alone, i'd choose vu.
    But thats only an opinion.

The level of support a receiver has is quite hard to gauge and people always make the assumption that one box is more supported because it has more teams producing images for it. well thats just plain wrong, any one can build a image for a receiver from a public GIT but that does not mean it has support.

Support also has to come from the manufacturer in the form of fixes and updates and in that respect Vu+ are one of the worst supported.

The main problem is the refusal of Vu+ to update their libraries used in their build environment which then leads to a lot of problems for third party image teams because their own libraries are often many versions (even years) newer than what the Vu+ hardware drivers were built for.

Now I am not saying GB are more supportive but at this time they are more likely to actually respond to the image teams when reporting issues, case in point. Rossi asked for and received full 1080 HD buffer support from Gigablue, Xtrend and other manufacturers over 6 months ago when he started building his first YouViX based skins and his own ViX HD images, most came good in a very short period of time such as Gigablue and even some of the less well known and newer to the market manufacturers stepped up with support , Vu+ however dragged their heels and only released their own 1080 HD frame buffer support a few weeks ago. so don't always just assume a box is more supported because it has more images out for it because it likely is not.

Hi, Just wondering why the sponsors keep sending emails and advertising HD boxes when no one can get HD channels + its all over soon ?

There is more up there than just 5ky uk and a hell of a lot of FTA HD channels, if you are one of those who is panicking at the prospect of your illegal channels going dark then you dont belong in this hobby (and thats just mu personal opinion).

There is nothing misleading about my statement, many teams have and still do continue to cherry pick portions or ideas from the ViX image while claiming it as their own (It's not that hard to find more than a good handful of examples with a simple google search).

I am simply crediting rossi2000 as the DEV who brought you true 1920x1080 HD skin support, He has been working on this for over 6 months and it is as a direct result of his constant requests to Gigablue, Xtrend, Vu+ (Vu+ being one of the last manufacturers to offer support and the only reason this is now being picked up by other teams), Technomate, Venton, Maxdigital and many more manufacturers that you now have the ability to use these high quality skins.

people deserve to know that before others yet again try to take the credit for work that is not their own. Rossi him self may not care who gets credit for this work but I believe people should know.

As I said in your other post else where in order to use the seek buttons you would first need to place the receiver into some form of timeshift mode, only then could they be used to jump through the recording as thats essentially what timeshifting is. It is simply not possible to do that with live TV at present and likely wont be for some time to come.

Sorry for not updating this thread earlier.

Just for information OpenViX HD (The first image the bring you full 1920x1080 HD skin support by a good few months forcing other teams to catchup once again) has now been discontinued but dont worry, we have merged all the necessary code directly into the base OpenViX image so from OpenViX Apollo build 095 you will be able to download the 1920x1080 full HD Skins for supported receivers directly from the image feeds.

Once again we would like to thank all our users for their continued support as we constantly strive to bring the single best Enigma2 experience possible, other teams may try to imitate us but they are always forced to play catchup and always will be.

Thank you for your post it is most helpful. One thing you say puzzles me a little though? When I bought my box I was looking for an inexpensive box primarily to get sly satellite but with the possibility of some IPTV like filmon. Cloud ibox2 appeared to top the poll from other users but all the warnings were to make sure it is not a clone, as you will have issues with certain images if it is. I took all precautions following advice by checking the board to establish it is not a clone therefore all images should be safe. Now you say icloud is a clone anayway so all I was doing was making sure it was not a clone of a clone then? And all images are not safe even though it is not a clone of a clone? Sorry but a little confused now.

every single receiver made by Airdigital including the new Zgemma branded ones are clones of something else, regardless of what others tell you. ALL icloud boxes are clones it's just plain and simple as that.

The long-awaited launch of Astra 2G has been rescheduled for December 28th. The launch will follow a proving flight to be made on December 16th of the Proton/Briz-M rocket which is slated to carry Russia’s Yamal-401 satellite into space. If that goes well then International Launch Services, which manages the commercial side of the Proton launch system, will go ahead with the Astra 2G launch.

The launches were originally planned for December 12th for the Yamal and November 28th for Astra, but were delayed when a fault was discovered in the rocket’s control system.

Normally the Astra craft would take a few weeks to get to its 28.2 degrees East operation position, but this satellite is carrying a small military cargo for the Luxembourg government which adds a degree of complication to its mission. First, it has to go to an undisclosed location where it will stay for at least 3 months in order to be formally ‘brought into use’. Only then will it be re-located to 28.2 deg East.

Industry insiders say it could be 5-6 months before it is available for commercial use.

I did install Blue HD skin as suggested by master g but it was saying it downloaded but it wasn't anywhere in the box only in uninstall plugins/ skins. So I had thought there was another skin conflicting it so I went into usr/share/enigma 2 and deleted the old one I had in the box as well as the default skin it was my own stupidity as I did see it was the default skin.

It was there you just did not activate the skin in the correct section of the image. I cant think of the exact path rite now as I am at work but it's in menu> setup> system> somewhere at the very bottom of the list.

I am going to the right folder , all as i did before only when apollo got to about into the 8o"s did this start sure it was about 87 or 88 ,if i flash the box back to earlier with a fresh image and load catseyes then scan abm its fine with the same catseyes file ,so hence my comments my appollogy but youll understand he frustration now hehe, you still get all the channels if you go to satellites then services and go along 13e thru all the channels whats a pain as its alphabetical sct is up the end and redlight is a bit away from that then you got to find private tv then french lover its a nightmare and all using one hand aswell , a multiasking ham shank ffs

It's very possible that a new issue has crept in between the settings and ABM as I dont use his settings, I personally find them over bloated and well out of date. I also apologize for my rant earlier, It just gets tiring when people sprout off with these conspiracy theories that have absolutely no base what so ever in fact, for their own reasons what ever they may be (and no I am not talking about you here).

Your quite wrong about me talking bollox was always fine loading catseyes then running ABM and asking to keep all bouquets up until this split in vix with the vix hd PISH now thats a load of bollox that is total rubbish , its like using a youview box

you need to put on your glasses bub, I was not even quoting your post so climb down from that high horse before you fall off and hit your self in the face with your arse. I was saying that ten's assumption that we have some how snaffled catseyes settings from working on ViX just because he decided to hide advertisements in his settings was a load of bollocks, we simply removed his settings from our feeds nothing more.

Catseyes settings have always been a issue with ABM in ViX because he uses a few none standard satellite positions in his .xml file which dont tally up with ABM or used to maybe he fixed that issue, you tell me since your the expert !!.

I made a post about just this nearly six months ago here http://linuxsat-support.com/showthread.php?t=63681&p=214248&viewfull=1#post214248 and I know I made others well over a year ago too, although they may be on our forum and not here.

Another problem is that people still continue to transfer the satellites.xml file to the tuxbox folder overwriting the default system file instead of placing it in /etc/enigma2/ where it should go, allowing the image to read it as a custom file instead.

Far from convinced about that buddy as OpenATV has no problems with these settings, also worth pointing out this only started when catseye added the highlighted below parts in his great settings.

    linuxsat-support.com/cms/attachment/28789/

sorry but thats a total load of bollocks. go back through my posts and you will see that I stated well over a year ago that Catseyes settings do not work properly with ABM in ViX due to the none standard satellites.xml file he uses. This has been reported multiple times on multiple forums and to the author his self but he's not interested in fixing it.

No disrespect intended but are you serious ?, if so then I would count your self extremely lucky you did not kill the receiver by flashing it with the wrong image.
