hi, i just bought a Dr.HD D15 box, iv'e been reading everywhere and cannot seem to find any firmware downloads or insructions, does anybody have one of these or any info, thanks

The Dr.HD is a closed source receiver and largely used by feedhunters as it has one of the best blindscan tuners going, you wont find plugins or images for it it's just not that kind of receiver.

It's the SGTFlipFlop picon pack updated by my self with the authors own action file and full permission. Hence why i include his name in the credits as the original author and mine as the person doing the work to update them. ( updating this pack has so far taken me over 2 and a half hours today as the original was outdated due to changes )

as for the method of uploading it's far easier to keep check of whats what this way as each pack contains a full changelog and date stamp etc. the reason for the quick jump from v2 to v3 was simply that i discovered a missing picon and corrected it, as i was uploading that pack another missing picon was pointed out to me which was again corrected. if i had discovered both at the same time i would have just uploaded them together in a single pack.

To be honest lately it seems that my posts are just not welcome here and if thats the case i'll gladly not bother updating this pack here.

New updated pack by me, Pheonix Team ViX. 30.11.12

    Changelog:

all picons updated with the exception of some adult channels and radio channels, If you see any missing please let me know and i will correct as and when possible.

From OpenViX 3.0-450 HbbTV is available for all VU+ STB's.

Hybrid Broadcast Broadband TV or “HbbTV”, is a major new pan-European initiative aimed at harmonising the broadcast and broadband delivery of entertainment to the end consumer through connected TVs and set-top boxes.

For Xtrend receivers this was already available and we're proud to announce it for the VU's as well.

HbbTV for VU+ is available as plugin via the feeds. For the VU+ Solo this plugin is not advised, as it would require to many sources from that little box.
DUO users are advised that (depending on the configuration of the box) the use of a SWAP-file may be needed (this can be activated via the ViX-Menu).

We are very proud that our own genius coder AndyBlac has been able to get this working, so we all can enjoy!

I have vu solo and vix imagev I can see hbbtv turning green but no extra function I have tried long press on red button but nothing happens ant ideas cheers
    Wwe

I can only answer for Blackhole image and it works on that image, I am unsure if the Vix image supported hbbtv.

Hbbtv doesn't work on VIX image.

HbbTv support was added into the ViX images from builds 450 upwards, this is provided in the form of a plugin rather than going down the dubious route of releasing a HbbTv and light image. This is as a result now also available to ALL OE-Alliance teams as well.

Menu> Plugins> green button> extensions> hbbtv ( not the ones ending in -po or -src ).

also be aware that the solo has very little memory so HbbTv may not work at all on this receiver.

hdmi Cec is set to no

    Not sure what this does

HDMI CEC is a communication protocol used to allow audio and video devices to communicate with each other. This then allows one device to impose a certain level of control over the other but all devices must be properly configured and compatible, frankly for me it's a pain in the rear as most hardware providers have their own standards and not all work well together.

Try changing the aspect ratio, do not set it to 1080p as frankly no broadcaster uses this ratio it's only currently used for media playback and can be setup under the auto resolution section.

hi i have the same problem i want to go to 2.4 because tspanel and 1 channel plugin do not work very well did you manage to sort this out

    cheers

    wwe

Both Tspanel and 1channel work well with vIx 3.0 and both are directly available from within the the ViX image feeds. 1channel however does have a bug on all images where it will crash the receiver if it cant find a source for certain movies, this is a problem with the plugin it self and not the image.

Hi m8 is Vix a good image for beginners or am i best sticking with bh 1.72 TIA

I may be bias seeing as i'm a senior member of the ViX team, but i would say that ViX is the most user friendly image there is, and in my opinion it has the single best EPG setup of any image available.

That said only you can say what suits your own tastes, but i would at-least give it a try.

any chance you can post the plugin autobouquetsmaker and is it for enigma 1

no it's only for enigma2 systems and i cant release it yet. it's a joint work by ViX and SifTeam for the OE-Alliance but as one of the developers working on it has taken ill it's been put on hold, although i can say that it is almost ready.

In it's current state the plugin supports 15 providers throughout 13 east, 19.2 east, 23.5 east and 28.2 east ( with more being worked on ). it is written totally in C+ and python so it's fast and i do mean fast ( a full scan of 28.2 east takes under 2 minutes ( closer to 1 but i have not timed it ), Thats about all i can say at the moment but i will make a formal announcement as and when it;s ready to go.

*** messed up anyways was free lol never scrambled

i watched on aljazeera 3 sports

not on my box it was not. i tuned 5 separate boxes in using with autobouquetsmaker ( not yet released plugin ) and all worked fine. as for the encryption i tested it on two boxes one with the necessary rights and one without, needless to say the one without went black at exactly 19:00 hrs when the other did not.

i have downloaded a folder of picons but i dont know where to install them on my bu duo with vix 3.0? can someone please tell me?

The Best and fastest place to install picons to is the internal flash of the receiver otherwise known as root so ftp the picon folder to root and restart the receiver, you will be good to go from there on in.

Having played with the Gigablue Quad the last few days, all I will say that they should never have sold a box with so many software bugs.

and you think thats unusual do you ?.

at least there resolving those bugs in a very timely fashion and most have now been fixed with driver updates, for example look at the Duo when that launched it had a hardware fault which prevented it from waking from deep sleep to make a recording, they had to release a new hardware version to fix that bug, and there are still bugs on our list that we have been asking to be fixed for over two years without Vu even admitting to although they are fully aware of them.

The uno was not able to tune to SR 30,000 channels at all, this was Fixed by Vu flying a engineer from south Korea to the home of one of the ViX team in London at the threat of support being dropped for the box. The xtrend 9000, 9010, 9100, 9200 could not tune to SR 30,000 channels at all on the second tuner again a hardware fault that was not fixed until the 9200 silverline edition which took well over a year.

believe me GB are doing a bang-up job of fixing their issues, more than some others have done in the past

It is worth noting however that while the merlin music player is a nice addition and yes it will add more functions that dont exist in the default E2 media player but it wont add any support for other formats as this is handled by hardware not software.

Those BBC channels changed transponder at least 3 weeks ago, it is not a image related problem, use a more upto date bouquet or do a manual rescan.

    p.s working fine here 3.0.416.
