yep caz they do change transponders as u no dude.. thats for most stuff i always update mine i didnt have the 007 channel until i did on sly.... i never scan takes tooooo lonng

I cant say too much but there is something new coming very soon that will pretty much do away with the need to scan or manually create bouquets almost entirely, for example it can generate a full tailored bouquet for *** uk in under a minute, directly on the receiver with no need for thirdparty plugins or a internet connection / pc of any kind ( plus many many other European providers ). I'll post full details as and when i'm able to.

The above is a post i just came across on another forum, and let me say that i take absolutely no pleasure in this users misfortune.

The thing that scares the absolute living ~ insert expletive here ~ out of me, is what would have happened if this thing had gone up in smoke in the early hours of the morning while this guy and his family were asleep ?.

Is it really worth dying in a house fire just to save a few quid by buying this trash ?.

There is no such thing as a codec pack for these receivers, it's hardware dependent not software so unless there is a Driver update by the manufacturer there will lilely be no solution. you also have to remember that these units are first a satellite receiver and the other things are just a bonus.

Known driver bugs (could be others): -

    • Volume control is not functioning correctly when using Optical SPDIF output, volume needs to be controlled via amp. HDMI audio volume control is fine.
    • You may find the menu's go hazy when using 1080i after a reboot. To correct switch A/V settings to 720p and save, then switch back to 1080i/P and save.
    • Multiple encrypted recordings not functioning.

If you have a dual-boot system with Windows and Linux, you probably know that Windows and Linux both use different file systems.

Windows uses FAT32 and NTFS file systems where as Linux uses ext2 and ext3 file systems.
You can access Windows partitions from Linux but on the other hand Windows doesn't allow access to Linux partitions.
Many times we might need to access files stored in Linux partitions and we realize that we can't access them from Windows. In this situation we have to reboot our system in Linux to access those files.
Wouldn't it be better if we could access Linux partitions from Windows? Today we are sharing 5 interesting FREE tools which allow access to Linux partitions from Windows:

    • Explore2fs (Read-only Access)
    • Ext2 IFS (Installable File System) (Read as well as Write Access)
    • DiskInternals Linux reader (Read-only Access)
    • Ext2 FSD (File System Driver) (Read as well as Write Access)
    • Ext2Read
    • LTOOLS

    Explore2fs:

Explore2fs is a GUI explorer tool for accessing ext2 and ext3 file systems. It runs under all versions of Windows and can read almost any ext2 and ext3 file system.

    Download Link

    Ext2 IFS (Installable File System):

Ext2 IFS provides Windows NT4.0/2000/XP/2003/Vista with full access to Linux Ext2 volumes (read access and write access). It installs a pure kernel mode file system driver Ext2fs.sys, which actually extends the Windows NT/2000/XP/2003/Vista operating system to include the Ext2 file system.
Ext2 volumes get drive letters. Files, and directories of an Ext2 volume appear in file dialogs of all applications.

    Download Link

    DiskInternals Linux reader:

DiskInternals Linux Reader runs under Windows and allows you to browse Ext2/Ext3 Linux file systems and extract files from there. The program provides for read-only access and does not allow you to make records in Ext2/Ext3 file system partitions.

    Download Link

    Ext2 FSD (File System Driver):

Ext2 FSD is an open source linux ext2/ext3 file system driver for Windows systems (2K/XP/VISTA/7, X86/AMD64).

    Download Link

    Ext2Read:

Ext2Read is an explorer like utility to explore ext2/ext3/ext4 files. It now supports LVM2 and EXT4 extents. It can be used to view and copy files and folders. It can recursively copy entire folders. It can also be used to view and copy disk and file.

    Download Link

    LTOOLS:

The LTOOLS are a set of command line tools to read and write Linux ext2, ext3 and ReiserFS filesystems (Linux's standard filesystems) from DOS or Windows running on the same machine.
It also comes with GUI programs "LTOOLSgui" (Java based graphical user interface) and LTOOLSnet (.NET based user interface).

Thanks to our readers "ThatGuy" and "Ashish Rohilla" for sharing "LTOOLS" and "Ext2Read"...

I get 24/7 reception on my 1.25 dish and inverto black ultra on all of the viasat channels and iam about as far as you can get outside the designated reception area in Devon

Must be another bird i was thinking of then, but as pointed out in the UK we are rite on the fringe of the area of reception and the fact that your almost as far south in the uk as you can get will really help you along, the further north you are the harder it will be to get and keep a lock on this bird during the evening.

if memory serves this bird is so close to the level of the horizon that from the uk it appears to dip below it in the evenings, resulting in your loss of picture. There really is not much if any thing you can do about it.

if your using ViX as you say it's in the image feeds.

go into the plugins menu then press green, you should find it in one of the sections there ( cant think of the exact one rite now as i'm at work with no access to a receiver to check ).

every TV shipped comes with overscan activated, overscan actually goes back to the 30's where aspect ratios differed so wildly that overscan was created as a sort of buffer, although it is no longer needed all TV manufacturers still insist not only on shipping TV's with it turned on by default but some manufacturers hide the option to turn it off or done even provide that option.
