this is bad box many people have same problem when either they flash wrong image from se to solo or other way around.

Thats true of ALL receivers on the market, if you flash the wrong image you run the risk of damaging the receiver, luckily though there is a readily available J-TAG method to ressurect boxes with corrupted bootloaders etc.

you siad the box has good support that is not true at all. If they have good support why they do not give a soloution to the boot issue
I advice all people to not buy gigablue at all it is bad

once again your way off the mark with that comment, the Gigablue is a very widly supported receiver, and as i said above there is a readily available J-TAG solution to ressurect "bricked" receivers.

doubtful. according to this very forums own sponsor, Vu should have discontinued the Vu solo and duo by now in order to vastly reduce stock while keeping the price at a reasonable level, intime for the release of their replacements.

Many people have problem with gigablue being stuck on boot mode, I asked help they did not help me or the others with similar problem. When I advice them to band gigablue, the gigablue official forum closed my account I think this is rude. So I advice anyone to stay away from gigablue they do not have good support or respect to customers.
We are looking for company with good user experience not the company who do not accept criticism.

rather than complaining why not tell us how you managed to "brick" the receiver then maybe someone can show you how to j-tag it back to life ?.

yes it was 3.5, but ive fitted loads with 3.5 hard drives without problems

as a general rule i'd advise against using 3.5" HDD's with the newer clones coming out as they tend to have substantially weaker PSU's, especially when also used in-conjunction with a motor, the draw on the PSU can be enough to kill it or pop a cap at the very least.

    Hi Guys,

I recorded some stuff overnight and I tried play it back a little while ago. While paying it back picture is getting "stuck" every few seconds :-( !! Could it be that it was recorded that way? Or could there be some problem reading it back?

    Thank you.

Thats likely as a result of the read / write speeds of the device you are using. as a general rule USB pens / sticks are the least favorable option for use with recordings due to their slow read / write speeds when compared to HDD's.

was the HDD a 3.5" version as it's possible you may have overloaded the PSU by connecting a 3.5" HDD.

all i can really suggest is format a USB stick to FAT32 and try flashing the bootloader / image again ( obviously one with older drivers not a newer ViX or BH image with the new drivers ).

Ye the mr mister one is great so might have a go at merging 2. I take it its just a case of merging the 2 on dbedit?

    Diolch yn fawr iawn :)

yes pretty much, also the newer MR.mister bouquets also contain the new ViX / OE-A style placeholders. allowing your receiver to skip over placeholders while zapping through channels, there are a lot neater than any others available and only available via these bouquets or if your using ViX you could download the Autobouquet plugin from the feeds and use that to create your 28.2 east bouquets as this also ( the ViX /OE-A VERSION) also contains these new style placeholders, along with a auto scheduling feature.

It will wipe the older channel list from the receiver, replacing it with the one you just transferred over. If your looking for a multisat bouquet try one of the Vhannibal ones, or if your brave enough to try, merge say for example the MR.mister 28.2 east pack with another and get the best of both worlds.

yes but the process of flashing a image first erases the old one from the receiver, so backup any important info you first need to keep then flash as you would any other image.

like i say it wont read usb, and ive tried differant usb sticks to rule out that aswell

you need to provide a little more info that that. for example what exactly is happening is there any thing on the VFD when you boot up the receiver ? or is it just dead ?.

The more information you can provide, the better the help you can be given.

If its the genuine article & its being setup for the first time, try flashing the lattest FPGA firmware first before putting a recent image file on.
I'd use the rear usb port with nothing else connected and see how that go's.

no thats not correct and quite possibly dangerous to the life of the receiver.

The FPGA upgrade is only for receivers with plug and play tuners ( Uno, Ultimo ). This is a firmware update specifically for the chip that controls the Tuner cards and can only be performed from within a active image.

    Note to the OP.
first tell us if it's a clone or original receiver so that we can better offer help.

Today's update didn't worked for me either on Duo, i am doing a reflash right now. Lucky a had a backup.

build 282 failed which has caused the bootloop. also we (ViX) recently added a feature to provide you with the option to automatically create a full settings backup and image backup as part of the update process it self, for this very eventuality.

With respect i think we are all waiting for Lraizer to update this e2 version himself rather than your attached vix image screenshots, but saying this i tested this plugin myself this week & it worked great so am interested to hear about these tweeks.

    Details instead of screenshots please.

The reason i included screenshots was that i thought them to be self explanatory but if not i'll explain.

Andy has included a Auto update option to the plugin, which allows you to setup a time when you would like the plugin to update it self for example i set up a auto update for 01:00.

The plugin launches a full service scan first fully updating the lame.db file then once thats dont it launches the autobouquets plugin it self fully updating your 5KY uk channels with any changes that may have been made since the last update. The idea is to completely automate the process so that no one again looses channels unexpectedly. like a 5KY uk box would.

at the moment both andy and a few other coders in the OE-A are working together to add more features to this plugin and completely re-write it, we have also approached the plugins author with a proposal to work together but as he is currently on holiday were just waiting for him to come back.

There are other additions such as andy's new placeholders which he created to allow you to zap through the channels in a bouquet in the same way you would a 5KY box. meaning that if your on channel 401 and you zap down instead of hitting a dead channel or a placeholder you now go directly to the next channel in the list.

you can see a example of these place holders here.

notice the gap between the MUTV channel and the 5ky sports F1 HD channel.
