    Just how are you trying to make the backups ?, as ViX has a very specifically custom written backup manager integrated directly in to the image so using for example a external backup manager such as Backup suite can give a lot of problems.


    To make backups with the ViX image as follows.


    1. Blue Button> ViX> Image Manager: This allows you to make a full image backup exactly as you have the image setup now into a USB format.


    2. Blue Button> ViX> Backup Manager: This allows you to backup your settings and plugins as well as configuration files etc ( you can also tell it to backup specific folders and files using the menu button ). This backup will take the form of a .Ipk file that you can use with a virgin image to restore all of your plugins and settings etc.

    sounds like you have the box type set incorrectly to autodetect ( 00 ), This is a problem with images using the linux 3.1.1 kernel as the cam can not properly detect the correct boxtype. look in the mg_cfg file to see if this is the case and if so change to ( 06 ).

    You have a few options for UK based bouquet packs.
    1. SGTFlipFlop This is the pack i personally use and it is setup very nicely.
    2. Silverfox0786 This pack is setup to mirror the $ky uk channel lineup for those who are used to the $ky channel numbers. it is usually updated on the first of every month.
    3. B16MCC front end software. again setup to mirror the $ky uk channel lineup however this software allows you to create your own bouquet as and when you want to, it connects to a database which is maintained by the DBUK team and is as upto date as it is possible to be.
    4. MR.mister bouquet pack although not yet officially released this will be a new pack like silverfox0786 and B16MCC to mirror the $ky uk channel lineup this pack will be from this month updated and maintained on the tenth and twentieth of every month.

    The FPGA update is critical to the tuners performance as it flashes new firmware to the chips that control the Tuner card. if you have not already done so update the FPGA to the latest version.

    connect the fixed dish to tuner a setup as simple, single, 28.2 east, no. set the other dish to tuner b and set the tuner as you would any other usals motorized dish. as for the image there all enigma 2 based but you wont really know whats best for you until you try one or two.
