I'm sharing a tuner from my vu+ duo with my vu+ solo upstairs and have full EPG and the picture quality is flawless (standard definition)

Both boxes are running vix 2.3

Phoenix, its not necessary to have the server box in standby to use the client box as my mum is downstairs watching the duo and i'm upstairs watching the solo simultaenously, picture is perfect on both boxes

One things i'm trying to do though is access the duos recordings through the solo, im trying to setup the mount but cant quite get it, here are my settings:

mount using: FSTAB
active: enable
local share name: downstairs_recordings
mount type: NFS
server ip: 192.168.1.17
server share: /media/hdd/movie
use as hdd replacement: no
mount options: rw,nolock,tpc

duo recordings are stored in /media/hdd/movie and duo ip is 192.168.1.17

i have enabled NFS server on the duo also but when i enter the above settings into the solo i get the little red x beside the mount point

do my settings look correct guys?

any help appreciated

yes where you have a free tuner fox example in a duo / ultimo there is no need for the server box to be in standby however if all tuners are in use it wont work.

did you hit the reload button after sending the bouquets over in dreambox edit ?.

make sure however that the "server box" is in standby when you intend to use the "client box" so that it can stream the tuner and other data from the "server box".

Most third party DVD players will connect just fine but i'm not sure if blueray players are supported. i suppose the best way is to try for your self if you have one.

CoolTV is not a EPG in it self but more a GUI that sits on top of your EPG or more like a fancy skin in simple terms.

The problem there is and i'm presuming your using a Duo. The duo has relatively low memory and as such using 10 providers in any EPG will very quickly overwhelm the box. In such circumstances i'd recommend a temporary swap file. as i said i only use a EPG on 28.2 east and it always populates using CrossEPG and the OpenTV 28.2 east source.

My epg always fully populates using CrossEPG and OpenTV sources with ViX so not sure whats going wrong for you. as for the other part you could try using MQB or multi quick button ( plugin ) to customize your buttons.

I'm sorry mate but that post is just all over the place and exceptionally difficult to understand or navigate through. if your going to do this you need to format the data into a more user friendly format like so.

Try this is you can. tune to a weak channel and place a wet cloth over the LNB if it is a case of your tuner being too sensitive you will see quite a difference in the reception of the weaker channels.

HAHAHAHAHAHA. I'm not discounting their work on the images as that speaks for it self but if you seriously think that video was wonderful in any way but comedic then sorry to say but your nuts. This whole pre-release video thing to me smacks a little like BH trying and dismally failing to outdo the DE teams pre-release video for DE 4.0 they did some time ago. at least that one was a good well put together video, this attempt by BH for me was just plain sad.

Its actually the reverse, The problem is the uno / ultimo tuners are actually too sensitive and on large dish setups some need a attenuator fitted inline between the lnb / tuner card as the very strong channels can overpower the weaker ones substantially. Those who have fitted a attenuator to dumb down the stronger incoming channels have seen marked improvement in reception of weaker channels.
