France’s Canal+ has confirmed that it is to screen the forthcoming UEFA Champions League Final on Saturday June 6th between Barcelona and Juventus in Ultra High Definition. The broadcast will be via Astra craft situated at 19.2°E in partnership with SES and also OTT.

The initiative is in line with the group’s year-old policy of trials across the technology chain, in collaboration with a range of industry players active in the sector.

“The live test transmission of a prominent soccer match in Ultra HD will mark another step in the introduction of this new technology,” said Ferdinand Kayser, Chief Commercial Officer of SES. “Since last year, we have conducted and successfully completed a series of test transmissions that encourage us to continue to work with customers and industry partners on the entire ecosystem necessary for a broad acceptance of Ultra HD.”

Andy Quested, Head of HD and UHD at the BBC, has suggested that any entry by the broadcaster into providing UHD/4K content needn’t necessarily be in the form of a ‘traditional’ channel service.

Speaking at the Futuresource Consulting New Content Horizons conference in London, Quested – who stressed that the Corporation didn’t have a UHD implementation strategy and he was speaking in a personal capacity – told delegates that as the BBC was providing a broad range of HD content, a future possibility was that UHD could be accessed via the connected ‘Red Button’ which would take the viewer to an IP feed.

He admitted that the idea of not offering a ‘traditional’ service had been sparked by comments made by executives of Japanese broadcaster NHK, who had intimated that its Super Hi-Vision 8K system could be an optional service.

The BBC has already participated in trials of providing UHD content over IP, working with BT and Arqiva to screen the 2014 FIFA World Cup Final at the BT Tower in London.

The Canal+ and Canalsat TV channels will all go all HD on July 1st, with 80 channels carried in native HD at first. The dual SD and HD broadcasts will cease.

The sixty networks like France 3 which will not meet Canalsat’s HD timeline next month will be up-scaled to HD. All the channels will be broadcast in Dolby Digital 2.0 and 23 of them in Dolby Digital 5.1.

The free TNTSat dish bouquet, which is marketed by Canal+ group, will also switch to HD, with inititally 22 channels out of 25. The dual SD/HD broadcasts will remain until Spring 2016.

He wants to play around with the firmware and as spark is closed source and enigma2 is a hacked port for amiko it really wouldn't benefit him as a developer

    Hi mate,
firstly what is your budget? If i was you i'll stay away from spark receivers as i have had 2 awful experience with them.

IF your budget is £100-£130 i'll go for either one of these:

Wetek play good budget box running android Its user friendly so dont worry about the family learning how to use it. from your Requirements it matches all of them expect for blind scan (I think i dont have the box),you can mount an external hard drive not internal. im not sure about Mounting usr and that stuff as i don't really look at those.

Vu+ Zero / TM-Nano-SE: both these receivers are good budget enigma2 receivers and meets all the requirement except for blind scan. I wouldn't say it's wifey friendly as it took my wife abit of time to get used to it but the family can get used to it.

Finally Miraclebox Premium Mini+: its similar to the vu+ zero as in the requirement aspect but the thing i like over the Nano se and vu zero is the additional VFD and buttons on the reciever. Its also a little bit more than the other enigma2 receiver

If you want my opinion i'll go for the Wetek its a great little box with development. It can run android, Openelec, KODi, Cyanogenmod and soon enigma2.

tried that no luck. :D tried vix vti blackhole all three are shityes nightmare i must say openatv is far better than openvix, only reason i switched to se if openvix will get this to work and becausee i do like youvix skin.

still iptv bouquet not working stops do you know how to do user agent dude?

You do know Vix and openatv can share skins as there share similar code (OE alliance)

BT claims Game of Thrones buy-to-keep first
    By Colin Mann

BT TV says it has stolen a march on its rivals by becoming the first pay-TV provider in the UK to offer customers the chance to buy-to-keep the box set of Game of Thrones and other premium programmes through a partnership with HBO Home Entertainment.

BT’s new deal with HBO Home Entertainment means customers can download to own critically-acclaimed HBO programmes including the global phenomenon Game of Thrones (starting with seasons 1-4, season 5 to follow), the complete box set of hit comedy Entourage and the first season of crime drama True Detective. All the titles are available immediately in time for the UK public holiday weekend. Additional HBO programmes will be added throughout the year.

All episodes can be viewed on BT TV’s set top boxes and are automatically available for customers to watch on their smartphones, tablets or PCs at no extra cost, for watching instantly or downloading for viewing on the move.

Alex Green, director of BT TV, described the deal as “yet another fantastic first” for its customers. “We are committed to offering the widest choice of on demand and live content, with pricing and flexibility to suit all our customers. The new deal with HBO comes at the perfect time for people who want to catch up with world-class TV shows over the long Bank Holiday weekend. But of course you get to keep them so you can watch over and over again,” he noted

Sofia Chang, executive vice president and general manager, HBO Home Entertainment, said the company was excited to extend its digital footprint in the UK by making its content available to BT TV customers. “More and more fans are looking to own their favourite programmes digitally and this is another step for HBO Home Entertainment to expand its reach in this important market.”

so i got a big problem i got openvix hades 10 and i got livestreamer installed , i checked if it was working , it worked for 2 min then picture stops i have tested that on arabic entertaiment plugin glarab!!! tsmedia yoolive. and my own iptv bouquet

how to i fix this?? am really annoyed i like that image only because it had ondemand iplayer and youvix skin, but the rest is no.

the perforamnce is alright but livestreams it dosent work please openvix team look at this!!

Misk try switching to OpenAtv, Atv tends to perform better on iptv than Openvix. I asked testi about problems with his Arabic Entertainment plugin with openvix and he recommends openatv as that is what he uses to test with. Also with openatv you can install arabic entertainment and its dependence from the atv feeds.

However if you do not want to install openatv you can try this workaround. FTP all the files from the attachment into /tmp/

    Than just Telnet

    Code
    OPKG install /tmp/*.ipk

bonsoir nightmare911 merci pour ton plugin. jais installer ta version 4.1 et sais écris no software updates avialable????????????????????

Hi could you post that in english please. Google translate isnt helping either

    Also for those who are pming me about issues with teledunet;

    Code
[size=14]for teledunet click menu enter your login and click yellow to login and save with green[/SIZE]

    Hi,
I currently have a duo2 which seems to have a problem whenever I FTP a movie to my hdd (its not internal, its an external USB 2.0). The video playback tends to be laggy and freezes the duo2 for a few secs when I stop playing the video. However when I transfer the movie via USB from the PC its absolute fine.
I tried to search all over the forum but didn't find anyone else having this problem.

    Edit:
I'm running openvix. Also if you want the know the format its NTFS

Try the IPTV stream on VLC. it might be the stream which isn't working properly. or if it's a public stream than past the url here and i could try it from my receiver.
