I was also told they ask for receiver details? Is that all through the automated system online or will they call because they do ask for a phone number.

Assuming you get one you need an Irish address and a credit/debit card registered to that address to use it.

I know for sure it doesn't over an hour mate.

5-10 minutes is the norm in my experience.

Yours lol. All I have done is edit regional channels and move some about in same bouquet.

Going to mates later to see if any luck there.

Port matches fine. Going to a mates as he has only ever used his software on a dm500s.

Still does not explain that manually when I FTP into the folders updated files are there but wont initialise. I have even turned box off manually from power supply but new settings dont appear.

Anyone got a idea what else I can try?

I've compared DB edit settings to ones on another computer which had only ever loaded channels onto a dream box 500s and they are all the same.

Yes you can mate. Insert USB pen drive etc. On blade just go to download then select save ndf.

Remove and insert in to 5402 and download list from USB to box.

Ok here is a update.

I am trying the ftp method and now know that the satellites.xml file goes into /var/etc/ and every thing else goes into /var/tuxbox/config/enigma/

The strange thing is the destination folder currently has the files I am trying to update in there already. I can tell from the date and time of transfer as it is showing only as minutes earlier.

Another thing on my dreambox, after I send the files over which says successful, when I press OK,OK BLUE there are quite a few folders called HISTORY? This is the section where all my favourites would be organised.

The new channels are there and work under the red button but all jumbled up.

Tried this but again no success.

You could also try opening up a telnet session, log in to your receiver, prior to using dreambox edit issue an 'init 4' command, and then once loaded issue an 'init 3'

Not messed about with telnet before (not that I know of!)

You also have the option of using an FTP client and sending the files to your receiver that way, once you have saved your results in dreambox edit.

Im very comfortable with FTP. Which folder would I send the files to and do I ftp the whole folder or specific files from that folder?

I have got a channel list and edited it according for my area

I am using dreambox edit to send it to a dreambox 500s.

I press send files to Dreambox and I get the successful message.

I press reload settings and get the following messages.

This might take up to a few minutes to let the Dreambox complete the reloading.
Connect error setting up telnet session for sending reload command.

I have followed the sticky on here using flipflops tutorial but get the error now never did before.

Any ideas what settings I can check that could be causing the problem. The Dreambox has a static ip and default username and password.

If you can get a card I would try and get pay monthly that way if they do switch it off you won't lose too much money. Who knows who is next to have their reseller agreement terminated at no notice. Especially if they are advertising on the net.

Managed to get a friends address to use and another mate going up next week to visit so can bring it back with him. Where on the website do you request a card as I cant see the option anywhere.

Tried that already mate. When you submit error comes up saying card blocked due to misuse.

Im running debian linux with omnikey.

All goes well until I get to Right click on the newly compiled oscam binary and select "Move To" in the new Menu.

When I do this I get a error message in a pop up box.

I understand what you are saying but from my personal experience this is what happened.

My peer contacted me to say not clearing so I checked and it was working for me but not him. He had blank screen.

I noticed the status message in epg and after a while it started clearing itself.

It has happened more than once exact same thing. Next time I notice it I will post so others can check their setups.

I didn't purchase my card until a few weeks into footy season so I guess I will find out if it clears or not start of next season.

At times during the day I've noticed that peers can't clear the channel but on my local share it clears and you get a message in the epg saying something like programmes resumes at xxx am/pm

Later on all is fine. Maybe they testing something for next season to block the football.
