(sorry it should be Vu Duo2 with Blackhole 2.1.6 And Power Vu)

    Hi all

I have been using Black Hole 2.1.6 Image for years and still going strong (not that good with Computers anymore) and using GBox 806 for the cam for biss now. I have been told there is a cam for power vu that auto rolls that can be used for BH images and if so can it be used on my older image for the Duo2.

    Thanks

    Interesting.
It seems knowbody knows how to do this or what cam to use or are not willing to help other or there is no cam that can do what the requirements are. Not to worry.

Can you get a Softcam that allows you to decrypt/view Biss Channels that have the same SID. The Softcam CCCam 2.30 only allows one channel with the same SID at a time so if you have two or more channels and they have the mostly used SID as 0001 you continually have to FTP Changes to your Duo2 just to watch another same SID Channel.
Just a update the Duo2 is using Blackhole Version 2.1.6 so if a CAM is available can someone please direct me to which one to download, also where to FTP it (possibly tmp) to what folder on the DUO2 + any other related things I need to know Like does the string need Frequencies, Symbol rates, PMT, V Pid, and the CW.
    Thanks

you have not looked very hard

    the forum sponsor has them

    you can add another tuner

    .
Its not a case that I have not looked that hard its a case where I can get the best exchange rate for the moment. The UK pound is dropping so I will have to have a look and convert our Dollar to the English Pound. 289 pounds = $514 our dollars plus shipping. Nothing worse that buying something then a day later you find or someone tells you that you could have purchased it here for $100 of our dollars less.
It would be my luck to buy a duo 2 and a week later a duo 3 comes out.

It would be my luck to buy another Duo2 and a week later a duo 3 comes out. story of my life. these boxes can be expensive considering our money exchange rate.

I would like to purchase another NEW Vu Duo2 with two sat tuners in it. Can someone direct me to a shop that sells them at a fair price. Yep I crashed my computers and lost all my bookmarks.

    Thanks for your reply.
Here in Australia Hbb is only new (months since it started) and have been told they are using I think if I'm correct V 1.15 whilst the rest of the world is using an older version. What use to happen was you would start Hbb TV and it would crash.
As for the Blind scan function. Blind scan works perfect for me as long an in your setup for LNB you use 09750 10600 11600 settings instead of 10700 (my lnb is 10700) but once you use the LNB settings 09750 10600 11600 then manual and Auto search become inoperative. All my other Satellite boxes I set the local as 10700 for a 10700 LNBF.

Nothing worse than doing something for the first time as once you do it and you succeed the next time you can breath a little easier. Trust me it took a while to set my box up the way its set up now and if I can back up all, change image, and restore it and say only minor things I would have to re-install or FTP across I will be happy.

    Please help ,

    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ;Mkls Feed (3.1E)

    Shouldn't it be
    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx# Mkls Feed (3.1E)
The hash in front of the Mkis Feed (3.1E)

Have asked this question elsewhere but haven't received a reply so I will try my luck here.
My Duo2 is using BH 2.1.0 and all is perfect except for Hbb Tv and Blind Scan as I suspect there is bugs in this image (2.1.0) that effect these two so I'm thinking of updating to BH 2.1.3 but I'm scared of all the work I would have to do although I have backed up everything via Dreambox edit and Dreamset + backed up my LCD4.config file.
My duo2 controls 12 dishes + Terrestrial TV (using 3 tuners) + Cccam and in my setup I am using the complicated Advanced setting found in Reception settings for all my Satellite needs (using DISEqC 1.1 and 1.2).

Now for the 6 questions I would like you more experienced guys with the Duo 2 to answer for me.

1/ If I do a backup via Menu > Setup > Software Management > Backup System settings on my Duo 2 and I reflashed the duo2 with NEW Version image BH 2.1.3 and restored all back via Menu > Setup > Software Management > Restore System Settings will the duo 2 be the same as before I flashed it (all my settings,Sats,DISEqc,etc Softcams and other). Remember my duo2 is set up to control a large collection of Dishes via DISEqC 1.2 and DISEqc 1.1 + Terrestrial Local TV.
2/ Backing up via Menu > Setup > Software Management > Backup System Settings does not ask you where you would like to back up all you settings "eg" USB or HDD ....where does it back up too? HDD or USB?. (PS in Advance method of backing up you choose where you want to back up your files.
3/ Before flashing with new image do I need to disconnect HDD (for Sat and Terrestrial TV recordings) and also the rear USB used for Picons only.
4/ After box is flashed with new image and say I reconnect the HDD and USB, remember the Existing Hard drive has recordings on it and so does the USB as that has plenty of picons in it what do I do to get the both to reconnect with the new image. (DO NOT WANT TO REFORMAT THEM AGAIN don't we) Do I just do a re-map or Mount (forgotten which one formats which I don't want) or whatever so BH 2.1.3 will recognize both my devices.
5/ Any other matters I should remember/ do/ don't do before taking on this project of upgrading an image by backing up and restoring method.
    Thanks
6/ Finally months ago whilst playing around I accidentally backup my settings via Menu > Set up > Software Management > Back up System Settings but this backup is stale so if I re -backup 5 minute before I'm replacing the image will the new back up overwrite the stale backup which has less settings and Dishes in it. (ps can I use FTP to Delete it in What folder?)

Yes I understand that after flashing I will have to do the basic things first like Language, Timezones, and other initial stuff when you first start the box after re flashing

If you press the ok button on your remote twice you should see the cam info...... this is using the default skin etc in BH 2.1.2

Have you got the cutomize menu set to expert????

My duo2 is using BH 2.1.0. I did not know there was an EXPERT menu for Customize. My path for customize is// Setup/System/Customize. If there is an Expert Customize on this image can you please let my know how to access it.

I would like if someone could give me some input on this deleting/editing channel name problem I have. My duo2 is using BH 2.1.0 and the problem is If I rename a channel and send it back to the duo2 via Dreambox edit or Dreamset it does not rename it. I can save it after it is renamed using both programs and open it again with the changed channel name or deleted channel but when I send it back to the duo2 nothing has changed. Yes I am re-booting the duo2 or re starting the enigma but nothing changes and outside this problem the box is working perfect. What am I doing wrong. Is there a setting in Dreamboxedit or Dreamset that I have not set correctly that is not allowing changes to be made.
    Any help appreciated.

Does anyone know what cam is in the Openbox S16? I know that the S10 has CCcam (don't know what version) But I would like to know what cam lives in the S16.
    For biss
The S10 needs the CAID, SID, and the CW
The S16 needs the CAID, Freq, Symbol rate, Vpid, and the CW

    master G
The only thing I don't like about CCcam 2.3 on my duo2 is that if you have to biss channels using the same SID you are in trouble. How do you or can you get around this problem (another cam maybe?)
Also this CLINE is this the String you add in /var/keys/ constant.cw "eg" CAID:PROVIDER:SID:PMT PID:ECM PID:: XX XX XX XX XX XX XX XX XX XX XX XX XX XX XX XX
    Thanks

Admin Some how this post has found itself by itself. I must have done something wrong

Format Yes there are all png file. I'm looking to see anything else that is odd

It seems the ones that do not show up on the TV but show up on the LCD screen of the duo2 are 24bit. All others are 90% 32 bit or 10% 8 bit.

    - - - Updated - - -

All fixed I converted them from 24 bit to 8 bit and all is ok now. So is 8 bit correct although all 32 bit ones work ok. It was all the 24 bit ones that caused the problem ( ps I remembers reading something about the colour depth being 8 bit)

I have just a general question about Picons. I have noticed that say out of a hundred channels that have Picons showing in the LCD of the duo2 faultlessly I have about 4 that do not show up with the skin on the TV itself. What could be causing this problem? All the other 96 show up on the Duo2's LCD and on the Skin on the tv itself when changing channels.

I was always under the assumption that mgcamd was the best emu for BISS keys.

Yes I'm trying to get the best for my needs. you are the second person to tell me to use mgcamd. If I cannot get what I want with CCcam I might have to switch cam as long as its not a headache to install and set up. The use of FTP with CCcam is ok but have been told others are complicated to setup.

    Try Cccam214 on the Duo-2

If I can ask you a few more questions thanks. How does CCcam 214 differ compared against the CCcam I'm using. Does it require Freq and Symbol rate and Video pid to get it away from this SID problem.
Also can I have both of these cams together for testing in the duo2 or will I have to remove my CCcam 2.30 first.
