Is the dish elevation too low for me?
You did not answer my question.
Is the dish elevation too low for me?
No, i want sats and channels you have signal on
And only those where the dish is not pointing at a building or tree
Otherwise how can i make a comparison.
I think this might help you what I might need to do. The dish elevation is 20 degree, the motor latitude is 51 degree and the motor elevation is 39 degree.
Do I need to adjust the dish elevation from 20 degree to 32 degree or what??
Oh right, can you give me example what Sats you want to know?
I will then give you the Sats and channels.
Display MoreDisplay MoreYes obstructions will not be good for signal...... trees and buildings are not good
7 west you need a bigger dish i only get a few channels on my 120cm dish
have a look at the maps https://www.lyngsat-maps.com/europe.html
Do I need a bigger dish or adjust it?
I sent you a picture last night and I'm still waiting for your answer.
like i said yesterday, give me a list of sats, channel name, and signal levels.
Do not give me sats details that are blocked by buildings or trees..... they will be useless
That will give me an indication on if the dish needs adjusting or not
But like i have also said the bigger the dish the better. 80 cm is too small for hard to receive sats like 7 east, 10 east, 42 east.
OK, the sat is 30 west, sport TV 1, signals is 0.
Is that good enough??

Oh right, so would the dish adjustment works or I need a bigger dish?
Here is my dish so you might know if I need to adjust it or get a bigger dish.

What satellite is it on ?
Take note of what sats you do get good signal on, and those you are not getting signal, or poor signal.
make up a list with satellite and channel names and i will compare with mine for comparison.
Take some time to read that guide i posted the other day, so you can backup your receiver and reflash when things go wrong.
Install a motorised channel list, there is several on the forum here: https://www.linuxsat-support.c…ist/155-enigma2-settings/
Then see how you are doing after a few days, perhaps the dish will need some adjustment, i personally never adjust my usals settings, they are fixed to your location if the dish is correctly installed.
It's on 7 East and 46east.do you get them in your channels list?
Yes my dish have set up correctly but I think I know why I get no signal for Portuguese channels. The signals got blocked by the front flat building which is not far from my house.
What did you do for a channel list in the end ?
You should get a lot on 30west, it has strong signal......
I'm doing manual search to store the list of channels in my receiver, so I can select on any sports channel depends on which channel show the game.
I can't get Portuguese channels because it show no signals. Do I have to adjust the longitude until I get the signals?
Did you get idman tv on your 85cm dish?
Glad your sorted now chris0147 , i think at one point we were all confused
Yeah I was confused how to use it for the first time.
I can get most channels but I can't get Portugal channels, Serbia and some other countries. Does that mean I need a bigger dish like 90cm?
Depends on your location, the bigger the dish the more you will be able to receive, i get Portuguese channels @ 30west on my 85cm dish in the south east UK, Im not sure what sats for Serbia...
I want to watch sports channels that suitable for my needs. I can't get Portuguese as I am on 80cm dish so is that not enough?
I am from South East of UK too.

Display MoreI have done it as I have received the Netherlands channels in the scan, but when I watch the channels my signals goes down from 85% to 55%.
It looks like I need to adjust on dish settings to get better signals??
No, i would bet there is nothing wrong with your dish or motor, this looks like user error to me.
You need to setup your box to use usals and the motor correctly for your location
You can enter your location here:
and it will provide you with your latitude and longitude
take note or east / west and north / south and configure your tuner correctly
a setup guide for openvix can be found here:
Thank you for your help. I have changed the longitude and longitude so everything is working perfect now.
I can get all channels I want with no effect when I rotating the motor :)

Wow, it works. I have changed from 1.231 to 2.231 so now I'm getting 84% signals and 13.5db :)
in tuner setup, there is option for motor setup.
now i think you have longtitude arround 001.250 . try to change it to 001.800 than to 002.200 etc and check the signal bars in the frequency that you already saw.
if it fails or signal goes lower, try the oposite 000.750 than 000.250 and check again the signal (in every change, save and move the diish to another satellite and return).
My longitude is 001.231 so what I need to change it then?
I will try and see if it will help to improve it and I would leave it alone if I get stronger signals but if not I will contact a professional to adjust the dish to improve the signals.
I think, you must adjust your dish. Your strength of signal 60% for Astra 3 ( 23.5E) is low . I have dish 85cm and signal is between 85 - 95%.
OK thank you. I'm going to contact a professional who have put the dish on the wall to adjust it. I hope he don't charge for it.

I don't think you can adjust it through the receiver?
even in usals, sometimes (for unknown reason) the receiver takes like wrong the coordinates.
for example, in the past, in my motor... i am living to 21 degrees, but i had to set the receiver to 25 degrees to be in the "center" of all satellites...
the only thing youu can do is this. go in the dish settings, and try to change (but always remember what is now, to re-set it in this again if nothing changes) the longitude...
How I can change the dish settings in the receiver?
Display Morei think snr 60% is not quite enough signal. i think that you can receive strong beams/frequencies, and not the not so strong...
i think you need to adjust better your dish ,
as i remember you have got a motor, so ...(simple or usals?)
or the installation (the dish) needs the adjustment,
or your receiver needs better setup, to adjust the dish...
and no the other frequencies will not be affected, signal will be better and to them.and... in a perfect dish setup, all satellites should be in a "line" and none of them could loose signal
Oh thanks, I am using usals so I can't adjust it. How I can adjust the motor through the program?
What signals strength that it need to do better?
I will tell the satellite company to adjust it for me as I have already paid it.
maybe yes...
in a frequency that you are receiving, what the signal bar shows?
SNR: 60%
AGC: 85%
BER: 0%
If I have to get him to adjust it, will it not affect the frequencies for the other countries like Germany, italy, Poland...etc?
Unzip and replace this satellite.xml file. Path is etc / tuxbox.
It make no different as I have tried it.
