iknow this is couple month old, but i have the same issue of not being able to default boot to e2!
i have yodas backup instaled, but i always boot to spark unless i force the issue!
have read via a tutorial that u can set it up to boot e2 from the spark side by going to MENU > System > Basic Setting > Factory Default > Boot to E2. but i dont have the boot to e2 option!

but thats not the case for me? when ever i reboot it always boots to spark!
Power off the receiver from the back, keep OK button (on receiver) pressed when power back on until you see FORC on the display, press down arrow (on receiver) once (display should say ENIG), then press OK (on receiver) again.
The receiver should now always boot into enigma.(

Try updating Spark to the version I have attached here, you'll need to do this update via USB in Spark itself under the Menu > System > Upgrade menu. Make sure you leave Spark to fully update, it will go through the motions on screen then reboot, then display a message about updates and warn not to turn it off, then reboot again and it's only at this point once it's fully rebooted that you are done - once it's complete try booting to E2 again using the same method as before and hopefully this will have done the trick for you.

thanks for the response. but before i try this i just want to clarify u understand wot i want as i dont think i explained myself very well lol
ok i dont have a problem booting to e2, wot i want is to boot to e2 as default, so wen eva i restart or reboot the box it boots to e2.hope thats a bit clearer lol

have set up enigma 2 ok with no probs. but when i reboot it boots bk to spark.
can i get it to boot into enigma 2 each time i reboot? -

one other question, is there an indication anywhere on on screen display as to what client ur using at any particular time? ie: cccam or mgcamd!

Well I have managed to get newcamd working at last and I have to say in the end it was really easy to do, I found a guide to setting up your Amiko Alien2 for use with both CCcam and newcamd, it is really easy to follow and understand, they are in PDF format so I can't copy them and put them here but if you know how to do it I will send you the link by pm, I can't post a direct link as I will get my wrist slapped.

You still messing with this, Did you try to reinstall your firmware?? I am using HDMU works not to bad

just bought alien 2 last week and have it running sparks with one little problem. i have to manually stop and restart mgcamd for it to work ok.
but my problem is getting e2 to load etc, tried pretty much everything lol.
i have selected the e2 boot option in the sparks-software upgrade. run that so thats wot i have on the box now. but i cant get e2 to load? tried the method in first post but end up with fact on display then T TO with the TO flashing on off (i assume this is timed out) http://linuxsat-support.com/am…-via-usb-7.html#post88942

i currently have a vu+ duo which i love. thinking of a 2nd box and looking at alien 2.
but i have never heard of "sparks" could someone pls tell me anything about it or point me i the right direction?
how reliable are these both sparks or e2?
