You need to post an intro, in the appropriate section of the forum bud.

Then you should be able to find the configs for most if not all cards in the Oscam section of the forum, if you still have problems and can't resolve them, then ask for some assistance giving as much information as you can. It makes it easier for someone to reply, and means that the response is more likely to resolve you issue saving everyone time in the long run.

    Good Luck :)

No, but as far as I am aware you can still install Plex and XBMC without Jail breaking it the TV 3, that would be your main reason for jail breaking the TV.

From what ive read it is possible, but its not straight forward putting it mildly so the only thing ive found companies offering to do it for a fee, which I am always suspicious about anyway.

With all the other discussions about Jailbreaking and such, I thought I would share this also -

Free Windows utility Kingo Android Root makes it a snap to take total control of just about any Android smartphone. Here's how to use it.

Rooting is the Android equivalent of jailbreaking, a means of unlocking the operating system so you can install unapproved (by Google) apps, update the OS, replace the firmware, overclock (or underclock) the processor, customize just about anything, and so on.

Of course, for the average user, rooting sounds like -- and can be -- a scary process. After all, "rooting" around in your smartphone's core software might seem like a recipe for disaster. One wrong move and you could end up with bricked handset.

Thankfully, there's a new Windows utility that makes rooting a one-click affair: Kingo Android Root. It's free, and based on my initial tests with a Virgin Mobile Supreme, it works like a charm. (Be sure to check the compatibility list before you proceed, keeping in mind that although the Supreme wasn't on it, the utility had no problem with it.) Here's how to get started.

Step one: Download and install Kingo Android Root.

Step two: Enable USB debugging mode on your phone. If it's running Android 4.0 or 4.1, tap Settings, Developer Options, then tick the box for "USB debugging." (You may need to switch "Developer options" to On before you can do so.) On Android 4.2, tap Settings, About Phone, Developer Options, and then tick USB debugging." Then tap OK to approve the setting change.
On Android 4.3 and later (and some versions of 4.2), tap Settings, About Phone, then scroll down to Build Number. Tap it seven times, at which point you should see the message, "You are now a developer!"

Step three: Run Android Root on your PC, then connect your phone via its USB sync cable. After a moment, the former should show a connection to the latter.

Step four: Click Root, then sit back and wait while the utility does its thing. The aforementioned Supreme took all of about two minutes, including the automated reboot at the end.
And that's all there is to it. If you decide you want to reverse the process, just run Android Root again, connect your phone, then click Remove Root.

There are pro's and con's like with everything, I suppose the real question is would jail breaking it enable you to do something or use an app you can't for whatever reason use now.

Do some reading and decide for yourself.

codar - Jailbreaking the phone doesn't automatically 'open gate' the phone, or does it? Like I said, I don't own an iPhone myself, I have rarely used one other than to Jailbreak them for a couple of friends.

I haven't tried it yet, I don't own a IPhone but I would suspect someone will ask me to do it for them in near future, I got it off a reliable site -

There is of course always an element of risk involved.

Which channel list or add on, will enable me to setup the channels so they are numbered the same as s*y, but have the SD version of the channel switched were the HD Channels are no longer available e.g 106 would be S*y one.

Id try and do it myself but my TV isn't working at the moment, my friend was asking me if there was one.

From a quick check you can install XBMC on this model of the AppleTV without Jail Breaking it, but I only checked quickly, check for yourself before you buy just to be sure.

Make a backup of your image using the add on and then try a different image, they could just be links to the same place but will look like separate folders, you could also try deleting them. But as I said make a backup first.

Although 1GB sounds quite large for an 800se from my limited knowledge.

hmm seems I haven't got that far even, i was using the options in ts pannel this time, but i dont seem to have mounted it successfully.

I was referred to a page about what info is needed but it related to oscam if you need more info let me know and ill post it :)

Im trying to install a new hdd in a vu duo, it has an old image vix image on which has the time shift option built in, as some of you will know its been ages since ive done a lot with the hobby.

I have initialised and formatted the hdd using the menu options, but i still cant get it to work properly. I remember when I did it last time I did it all via telnet, but I can't remember the commands, to list the available devices and then did you have to 'map' or create a link to the hdd\timeshift folder.

I have had a look but cant seem to find what I am looking for, cheers for any help :)

Merely out of curiosity, I have been looking at the current boxes on the market, mainly the Duo 2, Solo 2 and the XBMC one the prism cube.

I haven't looked in that much detail, but was wondering how they compare these days in terms of what they offer to the hobbiest/user over how much they cost?

From the brief nosey I had, im guessing its early days for the Prismcube (think thats the name of the xbmc one?) So may be best to wait a while, to see how it goes.

and the Duo2 is > Solo 2 > clone duo 2/solo 2 (yes I intended to stay away from the clones, lesson well learn't :) but they exist)?

Im going to hi-jack your thread and say id love to be able to commit time, but due to various issues and circumstances, I don't have the time, but would like to return to the hobby and continue to learn, i use the term 'leech' although I would gladly help others if I could, knowledge from the helpful staff and members who make this one of the best resources for the hobby on the web (in my opinion).

Hope you find more time sooner rather than later, anyway its late and im posting rants so ill log-out before I carry on :)

    Laters for now

Thanks for the reply MasterG its appreciated, I did try running the Commando image (althought it seems I was using ver 14.7) and setting the boquet, but I didn't manage to get the required result :( Perhaps I did something wrong or someone could kindly tell me what I would need to do to change Annie(s)

    or Matrix's version

I reverted to MerwenSat and one of my old uploads of the boquets I made using the dreamboxuk or linuxboxuk as I believe they are callled now, but it seems the childrens channels aren't working, and given that Commando auto updates I would prefer to use commando on it.

Its been ages since I did a dm500 or anything based with this hobby if I am honest.

Rant over p.s Hope is well for you et al the other regulars round these parts :)

    Banny

I used to use the Dreamboxuk Boquet maker b16MCC made to make boquets, a friend has asked me to resurect his dreambox 500 but I don't have any of the programs and cant seem to find the boquet maker.

Is there any chance someone could very kindly upload a bouquet with the s&yuk numbering i.e 101 being bbc1 etc etc and itv being set as the Granada region.

Id be very grateful as im currently pulling my hair out :57:

Thanks in advanced for any help :)
