Im looking to make an online CV/Resume, and have decided to base it on the Metro Layout (Like Windows 8), ,the problem I have is that all the decent theme(s) for Wordpress and such are premuim content (paid) and I can't find any decent quality free ones or a source to get them from.

Don't suppose anyone knows of any/anywhere?

Thanks, ill take a look, Apple need to make some changes to IOS, or maybe even some new OS all together, Apple users are getting bored with IOS x.x which is same as before with a few mods to it :)

My friend asked me to suggest/recommend as they intend to buy one for each of his kids for Christmas.

Looking at it from a 'bang per buck' perspective, anyone able to recommend one for between £60 and £100, with at least 1GB RAM and a decent Dual Core Processor.

Willing to order from overseas suppliers, as long as they are 'reputable' or have been used reliably before.

    Thanks - Banny

I don't mind if its an IPK or if I have to FTP it in myself, just so I can sort a friend out remotely till I can get round and install and configure the auto-bouquet plugin.

Its looking like il have to go round, thanks for the reply all the same :)

Hi would anyone be kind enough to generate a 28.2 boquet for Granada region, swapping channels like ITV, for ITV HD using sly uk numbering.

Thanks in advance, for anyone able to do this for me :)

For those that asked, the TV Make/Model is - Evesham 37" ALQEM37SX

Evesham went bust so sourcing replacement parts is pretty much a no go, if its a transistor they are pretty standardised so would be able to get it fixed.

I read the PSU aint so clever, I have also read of transistors going.

Your options for Setanta are -

    - Negotiate/trade lines with a peer who has the setanta channels, in exchange for something you have, if you do share.
    - Purchase a card/subscription from a site that offers Setanta (a few have been mentioned in the past, I couldn't say how good or bad they are personally, as I haven't purchased from them personally).
    - Get someone in Ireland to subscribe for you.

    Hope this helps.

Does anybody have any knowledge with TV Repairs?

My mums TV has gone off, and although the audio is on there is no display, I think this could be anything from faulty power supply to backlight(s).

When the TV is turned on from off/standby, to on, ,you see the display for a milli-second, repeated on/off attempts come up with the same result.

Can anyone either make a suggestion and/or recommend someone to give it the once over to see if it is feasible to repair it?

Can you please ask all questions in the forum and not try to PM People, I got an email notification and thought it might of been from someone else.

Thanks in advanced for your co-operation :)

My mates has a camper van and he has asked me.. if an internet dongle (for complete internet access), would work with a dm500 (keeping it cheap and cheerful is the aim here), if not which receiver if any.

I know it will be annoying and not brilliant at best, (or perhaps it will get better when 4G is more mainstream).

I was thinking maybe a mifi router and connect to that using a Ethernet cable, but im not certain at all.

    Anyone?

Sorry for the depressing/serious post, but this one hits close to home....

I URGE EVERYONE TO READ & SHARE THIS; YOU COULD SAVE A LOVED ONES LIFE BY KNOWING THIS SIMPLE INFORMATION!!!

Stroke has a new indicator! They say if you forward this to ten people, you stand a chance of saving one life. Will you send this along? Blood Clots/Stroke - They Now Have a Fourth Indicator, the Tongue:

During a BBQ, a woman stumbled and took a little fall - she assured everyone that she was fine (they offered to call paramedics) ...she said she had just tripped over a brick because of her new shoes.

They got her cleaned up and got her a new plate of food. While she appeared a bit shaken up, Jane went about enjoying herself the rest of the evening.

Jane's husband called later telling everyone that his wife had been taken to the hospital - (at 6:00 PM Jane passed away.) She had suffered a stroke at the BBQ. Had they known how to identify the signs of a stroke, perhaps Jane would be with us today. Some don't die. They end up in a helpless, hopeless condition instead.

It only takes a minute to read this.

A neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours he can totally reverse the effects of a stroke...totally. He said the trick was getting a stroke recognized, diagnosed, and then getting the patient medically cared for within 3 hours, which is tough.
    >>RECOGNIZING A STROKE<<

Thank God for the sense to remember the '3' steps, STR. Read and Learn!

Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately, the lack of awareness spells disaster. The stroke victim may suffer severe brain damage when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke.

Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple questions:

    • S *Ask the individual to SMILE.

    • T *Ask the person to TALK and SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE (Coherently)

    (i.e. Chicken Soup)

    • R *Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS.

If he or she has trouble with ANY ONE of these tasks, call emergency number immediately and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher.

New Sign of a Stroke -------- Stick out Your Tongue

NOTE: Another 'sign' of a stroke is this: Ask the person to 'stick' out his tongue. If the tongue is

'crooked', if it goes to one side or the other that is also an indication of a stroke.

'They' say for every 10 people to read this a life will be saved, a very ambitious stat, but even if it saves one person, or they are saved from a mental/physical state that strokes can and do leave people in then, its worth it.

Thank you for reading - Banny

For those out there like me that watch several different series, this link is awesome -

Also see what series are coming out and those that got shelved.

Roll on 24 2 series of 12 episodes (one of my all time fav's).

The 500 is a great box for starting out, in my opinion.

The best thing to do is ask yourself

Is the Program guide important to you (you may not think so, but when you have an inferior one you will miss it more than you realize in my personal opinion)
Do you want to be able to record?
Do you want to watch another channel while recording?
Look at the features, addons you can Incorporate in some of the better boxes, do you want to be able to make use of these 'extras'?

This is what I would do if I was on the market again? If you have a question about a box ask in the corresponding section.

Buying a box is like buying a car lots to choose from, just because some boxes are different doesn't always make them better (or better for you) and there are some clear 'Porsche' or Lamborghini's out there (yes car models were chosen carefully :) )

Although, even after saying all that, unless you can't bare the SD limitation of the 500 any longer, then id take Caz's advice.

I know that using hard, sym and other types of links is more common in Linux hence, why I thought id ask the question here, if I have a folder e.g. c:\banny and I want the contents and any attempt to put data in that folder to actually go to

d:\banny1 what type of link is that Sym link, hard link or directory junction?

taken from the command/dos prompt is the command below.

Ive been using this for last day and its very effective and accessible which is good.

    What is the 'best'?

    In this instance receiver.

Ive seen this question asked all over 'best' is subjective, what you mean is what is the best receiver for me. To get the most accurate answer, it helps to know what you are looking to do with your box, if the EPG (program guide is important), if you want a twin tuner and so forth.

    Ive used the following -

    DM500
    DM800se

    VU+ Uno
    VU+ Duo

    Openbox F3

I feel I could confidently recommend the 800se, VU+ boxes depending on circumstances and budgets, ive been pretty much out the game for a while so some of the newer boxes might be more suited for users.

The more info you give the better the answer you will get.

I don't like the Openbox personally, but my friend has one as a bedroom receiver and that was the best choice for him (money, and purpose of the box), and he is more than content with the role it serves.

This post is prolly stating the obvious a bit, but thought id chuck my 2 pennies worth in all the same.

If these methods are still failing its an elemenation process.

Check, Ethernet port is lit on device.
Scan network to check the same IP addresses still apply and check on e2 device that it has been assigned an IP (network option in settings)
Then try to ping the device (command prompt and type ping xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx) where xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is ip adress of your e2 device
    check firewall options on PC
Try connecting using putty or something simular.

If all connectivity is ok, its defo the username and password.
If you can't establish this, you may have to flash a new image.

May seem an extensive lit but wanted to make sure that everything had been checked.
