    Hi, I just got my second hand 110cm Triax dish and with it was an Echosat 0.05db LNBF.
    How does this compare with an Inverto Black Ultra?


    And what is the F in LNBF?

    Hi and thank you for your replies.


    I went ahead and bought the 1.1cm dish in my original post.
    Well, I'm not happy, it's thin and sharp edged cut my hand as soon as I touched it.
    Hold it at each side and gently move it back and forth, it flexes like mad, and those mesh holes seem very large.
    It also isn't the dish in the photo or description.
    I'm thinking of sending it back.

  • New Openbox V8S owner - A few questions.

    Hi, I've just got an Openbox V8S, all seems to work ok, but there again I'm new to all this satellite stuff.


    I hear a lot of you talk about updating the channel list. I'm not sure what this is about, maybe you could explain.
    I do know I would like to exclude all pay per view channels, is that possible?
    What operating software does this unit run on?


    And what is a clone? A Gucci handbag made in China?


    Soon I will have my motorised dish (110cm) set up, what can I expect to see on the menu screens? 10 satellites worth of programs all thrown on the program list together? Or when I switch to a different satellite it just picks up what it has available? Or, when I choose a new satellite I will have to do a new program search?


    Hummm, I'm like a kid with a new toy, but mum forgot the batteries.


    And what is it with "dishist" women? Wife's making guys take down their dishes, wow.

    But that Isn't really what I had in mind.


    Ok, say I want to pick up Arabsat 30.5 E, on your list it says 150 cm dish, don't have that but do have 15 mini sky dishes all over the roof of my garage all pointed to that satellite. Now what little black box of wizardry do I join all those dishes together with to get that signal? :)

    How do we determine what is a good lnb?
    The one that comes with the system is 0.1db.
    I have three lnb's:
    Ross ektk110 gain 65 db, noise 0.3 db
    Sky mk4l./ sky4lp1102d00014071
    The other is a sky lnb but I can't see what it is.


    I take it that they're junk, and anything to do with sky is pretty much useless?

    Hi, I'm new here and to satellite, and I need advice before buying.
    I'm thinking of buying a motorised dish (nice and cheap) as I would like to pick up a few other satellites, and I wondered if this was any good:

    The satellites amoung others that I want to receive are Astra 2f (Sky 28.2e), Arabsat (26e) as they have free Fox films, Eutelsat / Hotbird (13e) more free films etc.
    I take it the system above is ok for this?


    Oh my receiver is an Openbox V8S.
