I dont think its anything debian related. You can edit it in debian with Nano or vi using putty. Or probably more commonly use an editor in Widows with notepad++ or crimson editor or any others and FTP it with filezilla to your Debian server. Alternatively you can change permissions using filezilla or by using chmod command in Debian. Hope I have'nt misunderstood your question

    Openbox or S**box
I want to buy a cheap HD box for another room and I need help/advice Please
    Questions
Are these boxes fully linux compatible and E2 ?
Which is best S**box or openbox and which model should I buy ? I have seen favourable comments on F3
Which model is best supported firmware and channel list etc ?
I have read they cannot be used as server but they can run CCcam. Does that mean fline only ?
Can they run Oscam with DVIAPI and camd35 ?
    Any help appreciated !!

Why use oscam when you have no card of your own, other than stretching reshare there is no benefit really, have you tried CCcam?
It would make things alot simpler for you imo.

I suppose everybody has their own opinion and for different reasons.
I use Oscam only for a couple reasons
Ignorereshare . I believe that Ignore reshare should not be a global setting in configuration and should be used only on individual user basis. I use a PC server and when I ask for a share I always make it clear. Most shares I get don’t have a reshare and in CCcam are useless to me. I argue that if someone gives me a share he/she intends that I use it so I feel it is legitimate for me to pass that share to my STB. Hence I think it is acceptable to use ignorerehare for my userSTB. I would never reshare to a peer where I did not have that entitlement and that feature should be changed in Oscam. It is a bad bad reflection on cardsharing.
Stability. Having used Cccam for 3 years I found it very stable for sometimes up to 2 months. Then for no apparent reason it could’nt be run. Tried everything including contacting all peers and it couldn’t be fixed. Switch off for 24-48 hours and its back working normal without any change. So when all roumours about backdoor I started to look elsewhere.
I have found Oscam difficult to learn but I am now using Camd35 with oscam and(apart from the pcsc) I find it extraordinarly stable and very well supported.
Unfortunately I am not able to help with the original problem so sorry to damnedfreak for this little rant. It is a wet cold Sunday morning

    Delete Account with user ******
Put this in your server CCcam.cfg
    N: 127.0.0.1 17050 **** **** 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14
    F vu vupass
Put this in your VU CCcam.cfg
    C: <ip server> <cccam port server> vu vupass
**** **** are user and pwd from first oscam [account] in first post

can we start again ? What do you want to connect to what. We Know you want to connect a Vu STB to Debian server which is reading a local card
The best way (matter of opinion) is to:
1 use camd35 to connect oscam vu to oscam debian
2 use CCCam vu to Oscam debian
3 use CCcam vu to oscam/cccam debian
4 use CCcam vu to Oscam /newcamd
There are many others and many combinations of above and its not clear from above posts which one exactly you are trying to achieve

Which CCcamoscam package are you using as with some you need to edit the script to insert the ubuntu username befor you start. Post a link to source of you rccamoscam file and i will give more help

    Hi:
I've been running with lb_mode=1, and noticed that one of my local cards gets about 3x as many ECM requests as the other card, even though they are identical cards, and have pretty much the same average response time (at least according to the statistics show in the webif)

How do people who have both local cards, sharing, and also remote readers handling this ? (i.e. is there a best practice ?)

I too have difficulty figuring this out but I have only one local. Why would you(I mean anybody) have 2 identical cards. Do you mean identical locals ?

What is the best way to install to a remoto liunx sever ??

first you have to use FTP or wget to put "whatever you want to install" to where you want to install it
Then use putty and the command (simplest one)apt-get install "whatever you want to install"
If you say what you want to install I could be more helpful.
    sorry !

In webif my local reader has
    ECMs OK 45.27%,
    ECMs NOK 54.73% and
ECMs Filtered Head / Len 0/11088.
Can someone tell me what it means. Why should local card have any NOKs ?

I should say that my reader had about 7 lines and when updated during the PCSC problem(the oscam versions that did'nt have PCSC support) it kept getting longer. But maybe most lines are default anyway.
Also in log files I get a lot of timeouts on my reader for channels that it does'nt have. I have a services file but when I set services in the reader it does'nt do anything ie. everything is 0 but entitlements dont change
    Please !

Your router should have a firewall enabled - you should only open ports that are necessary - (server listen/sharing port) - and this should be all that is needed.

I would tend to disagree on this for a couple of reasons. In Ireland the main ISP is Eircom and their router will not port forward without setting firewall to low or off. As far as I can see all ports are open by default and I have never found where in the router setup they can be closed. I use iptables to open or close as required. This tutorial by Ten Below seem like the ideal way to do it ie block everythimg and then allow what you need. The old obsolete computer withou a monitor needs very little access to anything when all it is used for is cardsharing but for this reason it needs a lot of protection fro, outside world. i could'nt get it to work properly on Debian but I extracted various bits from it and write them to my own ptables and make it ongoing with Iptables-persistent. Have a read of it and it will create ideas for you

You may also want to check your /etc/rc.local file to see what else is being started on reboot.
I use oscam on its own but I also run a compile script with crontab at night to update oscam to latest version and maybe its just a personal thing but I have a backup command at start and reboot command at end of script so the server reboots every night

[quote='Cameltoe','https://linuxsat-support.com/index.php?thread/&postID=76844#post76844']I'm having exactly the same problem I have checked your recommendation and it still doesnt work.

    One thing:

What exactly does that mean? i understand remove # from the front of reader driver lines... but what does "u delete one command too" mean? which one?

opensc-tool -l reports the device OK

pcsc-scan picks up the reader and card OK

I only changed the setup because my old ubuntu box's HD started failing. At present it still works in the old box no problems, all the lights are good etc etc

I have a smargo(endless trouble) which i dont use. I have a an omnikey which is great and cost <10E and works very well. i also have DM800SE and its 2 cardreaders are trouble free. I recommend omnikey for PC
