  • how to: streaming using vlc internal/external/tested on vu+ and qbox

    NOTE: THIS WORKS ON THE MOST RECENT VLC.1.1.11_32.exe the luggage which can be found in videolan (google it)



    THIS IS THE URL FOR ***NEWS: h**p://192.168.1.131/web/stream.m3u?ref=1%3A0%3A1%3A1C7A%3A457%3A1%3AC00000%3A0%3A0%3A0%3A
    *the ip 192.168.1.131 is the VU+ ip


    open vlc


    we then modify this line to : h**p://192.168.1.131:8001/1%3A0%3A1%3A1C7A%3A457%3A1%3AC00000%3A0%3A0%3A0%3A


    then at the bottom we opt to stream:




    we then press ADD to modify the port to which we had previously opened in router ( by default vlc operates with port 8080 internal network but port 1234 to stream outside but in this case we changed to port 1243)



    then we press the config icon to modify video codec to whichever streams best from your network




    press audio and we modify audio codec to whichever streams best from your network



    then change TTL to 12



    then STREAM:




    as we can see it streaming we now check to ensure that it is doing exactly that by opening another vlc :



    in this capture the left viewing screen is black but the view was there at the moment of capture
    how we opened to view within the internal network is to open vlc ,open media then add the h**p://PCip:externalport ( in this example h**p:/192.168.1.129:1243 )
    but to stream outside to external network is to add h**p//HOST:1243 for example : h**p://harriet_totter.dyndns.org:1243to use in our external vlc


    This is probably not the most efficient way to stream externally ( I have also tried with vps hamachi ) but it does work.
    NOTE: all ports ,IPs etc are/were fictitious and now obsolete as they were only used to make this guide which I hope will encourage others to come up with better solutions as the downside of this is that vlc has to be running in the pc on LAN :(

  • flash memory 99% in use. !

    first ->blue x 2 -> devices manager-> format the usb then mount->left/right arrows to map (show the way ) until you see /media/hdd
    ( in my case with a usb is /media/usb .. then -> red to save _ come back out to bh e2 settings ->below devices manager is swap file settings (here different colours for options)activate then reboot system and thats´s it!!

  • How do I change the default network port for network streaming?

    I will make a tut of how to tomorrow about streaming with vlc from vu+ uno to outside networks with pix ;)
    Correction : after reading ALL your posts ,i now realise that you want to use authenticate the entrance for the streaming directly from the vu+.¿?
    I´m afraid to say that I haven´t found a way to do this either :(
    But running vlc in the vu you could edit to another port :

    I had a similar problem with the 1.7.0 which went up to 76% and not recognising the real total amount of mbs..
    anotehr thing is if you are recording to hdd this will shoot up the ram usage but not flash...
    swapfile is to swap files over (onto a usb or hdd depending how you have it mapped )when the box has little space left,I always use it as a precaution setting it to 256mbs,,, look at the pix in my backups ;)
    make sure you do a personal backup with configs etc before you change image otherwise you´ll be starting from scratch all over again and i know how long that takes to get things together,install ,reboot,install,reboot,,,,lol
    another little suggestion : ¡why dont you try out a backup either full or personal :

    and then let us know how you get on..

    can´t find any other version sorry :(
    you cannot compare a dreambox wiht a vu+ is my opinion.... as good as dm originals are ,,,they don´t come close to vu+...
    another thing is the lack of or slow development for the ultimos,,
    but remember they are only a month on the scene so like all good things come to those who wait;)
    just my 2pence worth ;)

    If you managed to get to 20% ,then continue doing what you did before!!
    If it´s impossible to get it to Europe
    ¿ where + how did you buy the vu+ ??? well thats where you should return it to...

  • TRRPlugin Help Channel settings not up to date.

    TRR ipk is the best way to ftp into /tmp... although there are earlier/out of date versions on the addons..but there was a problem of updating/eliminating the old vesion from the plugin from before version 16... so as i say the best way is to ftp the IPk ..
    EDIT- just read your post again,,if your friend already has the TRR plugin then he can update it (trr) from the addon,, press updates
    but the TS_panel is independant so it needs to be FTPed over into /tmp

  • to rule out a problem

    the dhcp has nothing to do with him being client,but obviously something has been altered,,if you can´t find the prob yourself ,,copy all the essentials,configs,etc, then reflash the box and start from scratch..then tell him NOT to touch your hard work ,lol..
    but i´m sure you will find the prob straight away ;) spacings in cline,etc....

  • I can not see VLC plug In on Vu

    sasho ..I installed the vlc player manually while the Bh server was down..... so go over the steps one by one again...
    I used DCC to FTP it over with no problems as you can see in my pix...
    I wonder if you gave it the chmod 755 permissions
    then reboot system..
    if after this you still have a problem installing it then get it from TS_panel addons....
