id5815 -- which list ¿¿TDT?? or d+ ? for which box/image ?? I use catseye in both my boxes in Spain..

the more info you provide the easier it would be to help ;)

What you could also try is putting the most recent settings (preprepared channel lists + bouquets(fav lists) ) although as you say you could only get 6 channels, sounds like dish is not correctly aligned,the reason for the motor to move when you try to open is that either your coordinates are different
for example .your longitude is -5.. so you need to add to the box long 5....West.
try this dishpointer
or the motor + has been properly aligned to 0º (azimuth/elevation of motor + dish) + box hasnt started at 0º(you have an option of GO TO Oº)

This should keep you busy for a while :)

best way is to open DCC and do a full search OR go into your router and see all the IPs connected (make sure the box is connected via lan rj45)
But all these methods will only work if htere is a nimage on the box ,if there isn´t then you need to force on on by the previous methods...

first try unplugging it when dreamup tells you to...¿ have you tried pinging the box from your pc in cmd to find ip??
another way is try tens way to copy HERE
if none of this works then it prob needs jtagging......which is another story altogether..

NOTE:
For GENUINE DREAMBOXES 500+susing original GEMINI IMAGES ,the route is : etc/ and you will see useraddon.xml .
right click to edit and replace with <item name="linuxsat-support addons" url="http://linuxsat-support.com/addons/gemini/addons.xml"/>
save and exit .
Now you can go back in and benefit from TEN´s excellent addon for New Solution for Installing Softcams to Gemini enigma1 images.....

how strange,,this cron is just for rebooting and just below it you have the option of autocam you only have to press the colour to initialize it:

and outside this you have cam manager to auto-restart.
there are also other ways to setup a cron, for example Master G´s suggestion: here

you need to download the most recent from the server then save them then reboot system...
If you still cant find your way around or they just wont work then try a diffferent softkey updater.
we can only guide you ,,we can´t do much more as it is YOU who controls your box buddy!!

softkeys are usually in usr/keys .......... but..... instead of simply adding BISS keys ¿why don´t you try out softkey.updater by sergoja for example although there are a few different softkey updaters??

you´ll know if its a clone if theres no hologram on it.. I wouldnt go by the MAC as they can be changed..
blackscreen can simply mean just about anything,,¿including fta channels?
when you get your hands on it you´ll probably find the problem and solution straight away--keep us posted and let us know how you get on ;)

dreamup is slower which is not as easy to corrupt in the passing,that said doesn´t mean that it can´t corrupt..
¿ did the seller give you any other info about the box? as you mention scart,but havent written why..
¿give us more info about the box ¿ clone or original?
what did the seller try out? did he/she ever have it working?
the more info you give ,the more ideas we can come up with..

woz -remember a PERSONAL backup from new kernel 3.1.1 will work on the 1.7.2 so also saves you from having to redo all over again although mckee makes a fair point about practice makes perfect and in less time every time ;)

@ Mckee - you´re RAM + FLASH are way too high for this image sounds to me,,,must be remains of other images,plugins etc still there...use freeup memory or swapfile for the image

yes ,i use catseye settings on my uno but its a personal choice..look for the most recent date.

an update usually means a bugfix,whether it be for drivers,etc,, but if you are happy with the 170 then stick with it..
My mother still has a 1993 nokia mobile phone ,she sticks with it because she knows how to use it and is comfortable with it and most of all it makes phone calls, but.....
