cable lengths give higher ecm times alright..one way to find out ..swap the place of the boxes,: put the dm where the openbox is and see if it makes a difference..
Although as you say you turn the dm off ,it has to be physically disconnected from the network so that the openbox can use the cline properly !!
try it and let us know how you get on ;)

¿ can you communicate with the box through DCC ??
there is a way to mount an image thru DCC for E2 ,, its in a post somewhere on site ,,will have to give a good search for it.. -

start from scratch and manually install anything else you need.while in BH go to menu- plugins-plugin browser-remote controlcode-

Just read your last post _ try an earlier image than the 1.6.6 and see what happens -
so configure it to the pc then you dont need a static ip for the dm800 if you keep it as client only...

winrar or 7-zip to unrar it then follow shatanar´s advice : inside you´ll find the .IPK file ,,
send it over using DCC or filezilla or whichever you use to /TMP (right mouse to change to chmod 775) then install via dreambox ;)
remember to restart the box after the installment. -
of course --use any of the usual progs ,nero, etc, and tell it which format you want/ encode..in your case from .cda to mp3

i use open pli beta image for a clone box and its very stable i can send it to you if you need it

you say dm500 but is it a clone? or a genuine box?? ,,either ways plijade seems to be one of the most popular images although I use gemini 4.70 for my dm500+ originalbox ..
As far as for a motorised setup you only need to use a motorised channel settings ,I personally prefer Catseye Enigma1 settings( loading it with dreamset)..but there are many to choose from...so its a matter of personal test trials then decide ;)
How would the "issues" you refer to have anything to do with the image??? -
as scoot says they might have shown up as "data" rather than tv channels..in dreamboxedit revise the "data " lists...
other than that ....try a different box... -

in the duo with vix 2.3?? maybe it didnt download OR flash fully..... I suggest you go back to the image you had on before ,
and with the backup you had previously made just go back to that also.. -
title says image updater but then you say software updater ...¿ which is it ? ¿what exactly did you do ? image or software?
if its image ,this can happen if it didnt 100% reflash .so you need to unplug system then start all over again..
if it´s software ¿what was it and where did you find it and how did you try to update it ? tmp , usb , net, ¿¿?? -

the 2 peers in question ,best way to clear up the matter is Pm them asking why do they show up as fake...
